I run, I ruck and I lift weights, military style training. I need a device that’s tough and this fits the bill, do you think for my use, the polar grit x pro outworks the garmin options? I really want to trust the polar, but the reviews are so mixed and really I know I only want to use it for recovery metrics, logging my workouts, keeping track of everything I do basically.
@kofuzi2 жыл бұрын
I think Garmin may have some products that are a bit more focused on rucking and hiking, but I prefer the recovery metrics that Polar provides. (it's been a while since I've reviewed a Garmin, so things may have changed in the last two years).

Great timing, getting tired of then touchscreen on my Vivo 4 and looking for something new. Loved the clip of you getting lost on the trail when you mentioned the retrace (aka Kofuzi mode) function.😉

Was on the Vivo HR for around 3 years, fantastic fit because it never stuck in aginst my rist during press ups, etc. I moved it up to the. Vivo 4 was a big jump up was great. If you are still looking one, forerunner 245 good very good for overall usage. 👍

Im thinking of buying this watch. I've got the polar vintage m2. Can you make workouts or download workouts with that watch or do i need this one? How can u make or download ur new running workouts?

It’s cool that you still have time to review new products during the final countdown to the Chicago marathon. Great review as always!

there's less reviewing that happens around Chicago, as it's my busiest time of year, but I still like to mix it up

Have you run in a Coros or Garmin? How do they compare to the Polar?
@kofuzi3 жыл бұрын
Yes. It’s a hard question to answer in a comment. But to oversimplify, I think all the watches are pretty good at packaging sensors in a small device. I like how Polar lets me see and analyze my data. Plus, I think they are ahead of the rest in terms of recovery metrics

10:13 this may sound like a silly question, but does the heart rate sensor has a shiny metal piece covering the LEDs of the sensor, or is it a silver coated crystal? Just curious how careful should I be when it comes to cleaning that piece of the watch. I had a Vantage M2 for about 2 years and in the case of the M2 it was clearly a piece of glass covering the LEDs underneath, but on the Grit X Pro I am uncertain. From what I see it looks Ike a piece of metal and the LEDs seem to be engraved in it, but I cannot tell for sure.

curious? I'm new to some running equipment. I have a fitbit versa. the buzz (in strong) is not good enough to let me know the interval changed. I the buzz or sound strong in these more expensive watches?
@kofuzi2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had a Fitbit in quite a few years. But I generally feel like most watches, regardless of price, could use a stronger haptic motor.

I know it tracks calories burned during an activity. I’m pretty sure it tracks all day calorie burn as well, but I’m not positive as I don’t track that particular metric

question for you after discount I am getting Vantage v2 for $375 or a seller on ebay is selling gritx pro for $400 which do you think is a better buy ?

As a road runner myself, the vantage v2 would be the better buy. it will depend on whether you need the Grit X Pro specific features

you like to run in water but isn't it dangerous for the stryd pod ? I know someone who killed his stryd just out of sweat how many stryd pods have you ever owned ?
@kofuzi3 жыл бұрын
this is the one and only one Stryd I've ever owned. I've been treating it like this since January 2019, so almost three years now. snow, slush, full submersion in water (they specifically told me not to do that), sub zero temps - I just can't break this thing.
