You're such a brave woman who can travel to some of those places but it will be an unforgettable experience for many more years to come. I left Sihanoukville by boat in 1979 and came to America in 1981. I've returned to visit my sole surviving sister there every year since my retirement. Can't wait for my coming trip next month. Enjoy your trips and stay safe 🎉

@@KhmerMinnesnowta I didn’t stay in Sihanoukville just passed through. It’s such a busy built up place. Do you visit the islands when you come back for a visit? I bet you have seen a lot of changes. Cambodia 🇰🇭 has a very special place in my heart the people are wonderful so friendly and welcoming.

@nanwithabackpack I had returned to the city in 2000 to find some long lost friends. I had a chance to visit Bamboo Island but not those further ones. I was a first team to send and work there in mid 1979 after Pol Pot forces was defeated. The town was empty like a ghost town with destroyed buildings from the war. It seems just like yesterday. I haven't been back to the city for a long time since they developed it. Hopefully some days!

Once again, have to say, this is a great channel. Super watchable. And Koh Rong is epically gorgeous and laid back. Like Sihanoukville used to be not long ago. Its future is written in the sand.

@@dancooper5741 hahaha it was so small but ok for a passport cash or jewelry if you have any! 😁 although if you’re travelling light and staying somewhere that rustic you probably don’t have anything to put in the safe!!!

@nanwithabackpackАй бұрын
@@jeanettebarns1024 oh it was so nice to be back on a beach. Unfortunately, the electricity kept going out one night there was no electricity at all. No electric means no Wi-Fi or Internet. 🛜 although even with Electric the Wi-Fi is pitiful so anyone that is working online islands living would be a problem.

I stayed on Sok San Beach, the first place to the right of the pier looking out to sea. It had a tin roof and rained one night. Deafening! Every day we helped pick up plastic from the beach and sea. It was one of the worst places I’ve seen for rubbish.
@nanwithabackpackАй бұрын
Yes there has been a typhoon in the Philippines and the winds had washed up plastics they were all coming from that and washing up on the shore. It was worse on the smaller island unfortunately. 😢

@@suzannehughes9820 thank you. I use iMovie to edit my videos. I would love to move over to Final Cut Pro but unfortunately right now it’s not within my budget so I have to make do with iMovie. Hopefully as my channel grows, I will be able to upgrade.
