I didn't know the victim personally, but my heart breaks for the father who was murdered. I'm a Sumi, but we Nagas always respect and honor our elders regardless of tribe. We address our elders as Baba or Amma, even if they are strangers. The same sense of community and kinship that were passed down from generations still guide our society today. This was an assault on the most sacred values and traditions of our Naga Society and a stain on our collective conscience.

Criminal procedures aren't as simple as you think. Criminal procedures take time so that proper justice is given to the victim and for which reasons investigations are conducted to determine as to 1) Why did it happen? 2) when did it happen?? 3) Where did it happen? 4) What was the cause? Etc... There is a code of conduct for every criminal procedure.

A big slap to the kohima police. Sir Robin should set up a team to investigate why police personnels stationed there remained silent spectators. So much have been avoided only if they had stepped inn. A son won't lose a Father, a village won't lose their president, a wife won't lose a husband. The police are investigating on how many steps they took, which hand they used, how much distance were there between both the cars, what curry they had before leaving home, who made it, so and so. *Spend 6 years studying in kohima of which 2 years were spend living in Bara Bosti. I have met many good friends from there and if they're good, they're really nice people and wouldn't even think for a second to help you. But there's always 2 sides of a coin and I say this, many incidents have also occurred which I do not look back fondly on. I think I'm not the only one who has faced such hardships. This mentality of "my area so you stay beneath me" needs to change. I understand that it can't be removed all of a sudden but it really needs to change. It throws a very negative light on the whole area and community and I wouldn't be lying if I said Bara Bosti doesn't have the brightest of reputations when it comes to this topic. Like I said earlier, not all the people are bad but you can't ignore the fact that these instances keep happening day in day out. Sad for the life lost, it could have been avoided. If you're not educated on the topic then please don't make a fool of yourself on the internet.. There are different branches of government and each branch has a specific task. It is the job of the DC to give orders and supervise the concerned department under him to perform specific tasks. It is the power of the judiciary i.e courts to give punishment not the government officials. The judiciary passes the punishment and the police enforce them. No person is above the law and there's a procedure that has to be followed.
