Thank you for saving me the cost of two plumbing repairs! These toilets were installed two years ago. Both toilets had the leaky seal problem. The first toilet seal replaced had a very small bump on it and a mirror (exactly the same) one on the other flat side. I thought that strange but threw the old one out happy to have been able to fix the leaking so easily! After replacing the second toilet seal I noticed a series of three small bumps mirrored on both flat sides of the seal. Frustrated I just threw the seal on my desk for a week or so. Upon inspecting it again the bumps disappeared leading me to the conclusion that these seals had a defect in them! These toilets were installed in May and July of 2021 and repaired easily with your instructions so indications are that if the impurities are in more seals this might be a two year project and your instructions will be even more invaluable! Thank you for saving me the cost of a plumber, it took me a little over a minute to fix our annoying leak. I didn't bother removing the tube since it was on so tight but was plenty of slack to just turn the tube sideways to work on it. Your informative short instructions were to the point without excess talking to purposely make it longer.

Fluidmaster has a product (flush' 'n sparkle) that sits in the tank and passes the water that fills the bowl thru a sealed chlorine tablet container. It doesn't put chlorine in the tank itself, just the bowl.

I never put those toilet tabs in my tank because I knew that it would ruin the seals and also if your animals drink out of the toilet like your dog, he can harm them

Just a matter of semantics, I know. But the gasket you replaced was not "old & rotten" but rather it was destroyed by the chlorine tablets. And every piece of plastic in that tank as well.

Was water leaking into the toilet or from the top of the valve? I have a leak from the top of the valve itself thinking I need to change the flush valve.

In my case the yellow gasket at the bottom had become so hard it would no longer seal. If the leak is at the top it could be overfilling, have a crack, or a leaking fill valve.

My problem is not a bad gasket that makes the toilet run, it's the flush lever that sticks...it stays in the up position, preventing the cylinder from falling. I tried loosening the nut on the inside of the tank, but that didn't help. So I tried loosening the screw on the other end of the arm, but it is so tight. Do you know what I could do?

I have a number of these toilets in our different properties and had the same issue on one. The handle was corroded on the shaft that penetrates the tank. I took the screw (it was tight) out and took the handle shaft out of the tank. I cleaned the corrosion off the handle shaft and put some lubricant on it and reassembled.

@@MiloFarms I bought a new handle installed and have the same problem. I'm confused why it's still sticking.
