The name of the splined part is a spline adapter kit # GP1074231

From my observation your missing the screw that hold that adapter in “FIRMLY IN PLACE” it’s allowed to float around causing it to get damaged, the screw goes down the middle tying it all together.With that diverted you only get three choices also.

Thanks for the heads up, alot of times you never know what you can find years after someone you hire does work around the house till it breaks and I take it apart to see it.

Oh ok great because I’m doing a kohler Kyle 728 I believe it’s called and It has an overhead ceiling head and a regular wall showerhead spray that can come off and I capped the left side of the valve because there is no tub and no jets. So I was just wondering how the handle would work. So your saying i just stop in between them both and it will do both. My next question is will the handle keep turning even tho I have the 3rd line of the 3way valve capped. Or is there a way to adjust the handle so it only stops at the ceiling head and the wall spray head. I didn’t get the handle in yet. Waiting in them. I installed everything but didn’t mess with it yet.

Mine did that too and the valve broke inside..its on another video when I changed it out..I ended up changing the guts..the hard water calcium messed it up.

have SAME issue but do not know how to get bonnet and handle off to get to the plastic piece you never showed how you got the handle/bonnet off?

Does this valve do 2ways at once?

Yes the ones next to each other in the turn..you can move the handle in between them.

@@alyoungcuda also I ran everything in 1/2 in copper which I even called kohler to double check. Because I was worried about the pressure. It’s installed with kohler temp valve with stops.
