New kohaku is looking stunning mate , settling in nicely .garden coming on , I was expecting huge trees and giant plants when you said tropical jungle to me 😂😂well said on the bottom drain air 👍👍👍💪💪good idea on the planting although I expected them to disappear into the pond when the blade went on 😂top job stu 👍👍😀😀
@surreykoi2 жыл бұрын
Give it a season Martin and these plants will probably take over the street lol 😂 You know me and I won’t lie I had to extend the blade with some clear acrylic to give it an extra 50mm as it didn’t wash them away but they did get extremely wet as it turned off!!! 🤣🤣🤣 as for the new Kohaku he’s looking good and putting some size on now 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 everyday is a school day 😂😂😂

Going to look brilliant when all them plants come up. Can't believe how big your Adam Byer kohaku is. Mines only about 35. Ps. My Alexa had a melt down every time you said it in your video 😂
@surreykoi2 жыл бұрын
Hi Danny, hahahaha I do the Alexa on purpose as I know it fucks everyone else’s up 😂😂😂 Kohaku is probably 52-53cm now and Bob’s bigger lol 😝 this season I’m upgrading the quality of fish and enjoying the pond as last year it was just build build oh and build 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I never turn my air off unless I'm looking at something. More for the turbulence than for putting oxygen in the water. You don't need that with the water blade running. As long as the fish are happy it becomes a matter of personal choice.
@surreykoi2 жыл бұрын
Totally personal choice Jim… I just follow what much much more qualified koi keepers tend to do 👍🏻

Nice video Stu. The 'beast' that is in your pond, is it a chag or karashigoi? Did you buy anything in the end at Park Fishery?
@surreykoi2 жыл бұрын

where's the Tancho at Stu? didn't see it in the pond... I'm thinking of mixing in some colour food with the growth, what sort of ratio do you think would be good? Also with that artificial turf, do you have to brush sand into that sort or is it self weighted? thinking of putting some down myself when i get around to sorting the garden out. Cheers Stu, Nice Vid😎
@surreykoi2 жыл бұрын
Hi pal, Tancho was bought for Marek actually without him knowing 👌🏻 I’m also adding some colour food myself this summer and will probably add a 1/4 to my mix I already use. As for the turf it’s top quality weighted so no kiln dried sand required 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@TelfordKoiPond2 жыл бұрын
Hello Stu👍😊. Plants will be good👍. You did a great job with Bob, really admire you for being able to do that👍. Beautiful Kohaku, in fact, lots of beautiful fish👍. What’s the temperature in the conservatory?😂. Pond and garden look lovely when lit up at night😊. Interesting that you don’t keep your air on in the pond, lots of different opinions on that subject 🤔. Stay safe buddy👍🐟🈲😊

Hi Phil, plants if I don’t kill them will be amazing hopefully lol 😂 I’m at 24 today so it’s feeding time until November then I’m cutting off totally and keeping them at 8 degrees!!! Yes I’m a believer of less air and more flow….. and it’s served me well to date….. everyone thinks differently that’s true just a few actually have no idea lol 😂😂😂 hence I’m trying to educate in my own non subtle way 🤷🏼♂️😁
