Hello Sir, excellent video as usual. Just wondering what the ph is like in these green water and if there is much of a ph swing. Thanks.
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
pH often is quite low in mud ponds. It varies from around 6,5 to the lower end of 7. Sometimes up to 7,5/7,6. For that reason sometimes mudponds one year can be very succesful with growth results, while next year the results can be disappointing because of heavy rain for example.

Yet another great video...would like to understand the benefits of 50/50 feeding..ie when feeding sinking and floating in anyone feeding session
@Aboutkoi3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, appreciated! The benefit it has in my opinion is a better distribution of food throughout the area if you have larger numbers of Koi. Meaning all Koi have more chance to grab some food, also the more 'shy' Koi that tend to stay in the background.
@michaelfox27533 жыл бұрын

wow, very detailed information here! thank you alot to make that chart table for us to understand the function!but for temp up 20 degree I do understand the number is based on daily, how abt those temp under 20? especially 10degrees is that mean I need to feed them that amount daily? thabk you!
@Aboutkoi3 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Both for under and above 20 degrees this table shows the amount of food that can be provided to Koi on a daily basis. So for example at 15 degrees 1% of body weight in food. If the Koi weight is 1000 grams, you can provide around 10 grams of pellets on a daily basis. Hope that will help you 😊

How about food and mineral for koi fry/ baby. What food and mineral and vitamin they give? Please make video about this
@PaulWheelerPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Great video. Is the weight of food split over the number of feeds for the day, or is it the weight of food per feed?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, the weight mentioned differs a bit. But it is indeed per day and not per feeding round. Sometimes I mentioned the weekly amount and sometimes the daily amounts.

Does Saki Hikari make a sinking food? I can't find it.

Yes they do, for example the Balance and Growth are available in sinking. I think color and multi season are not.

how many times need to feed the koi daily? maximum how many times?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Some of the ponds in this video are fed 6 or 7 times by the breeders. And breeders will probably know very well what is best for their Koi. So I suggest to follow their approach 😉

Hello sir what is the best food for breeders koi to have a egg developer of female breeders? Thanks
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, it is important to use protein containing food. Ideally I would go for food with a large basis of fishmeal. You can also add for example frozen shrimps as addition

Hi, i have a question, they do 7 times feed per day ? Every 3 hours ? Also do they feed at night? Or only day time ? Thanks 👍
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
It depends for each breeder. Average I would say about 5-8 times. Most breeders start early in the morning with the first feeding round. Then rest of the feeding usually is only day time & one late at night

Hi can I just ask is the chart table for any age of koi? Thanks
@Aboutkoi3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes it is applicable to any age. However, if Koi are younger you are fine if you increase the percentages slightly. When Koi are older it is better to decrease it slightly.
@jameswithers30663 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi so if I had around 20 koi at 60cm, you can feed 1.5kg a day? Also what would be the minimal you could feed so they stay healthy but slow steady growth? Thanks in advance.
@sangsanga74034 жыл бұрын
Do we need to seperate them first before breeding them if they stayed together before
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
It is not necessarily needed. But will surely help to separate male and female koi for a while to increase the chance of natural breeding in your pond or tank.
@sangsanga74034 жыл бұрын
And what are the bests age to breed them 😊
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Female should be at least 3 years old, male above 2 years old. Little bit older will be easier usually.
