Sister, you get the award of the year! I'm so very proud of you for putting and pushing yourself through school and coming out on top to show those in-laws who's top dog. I'm also proud of you for knowing the truth of God's love and not turning back, no matter how much your husband's family begged you. Their fake love and respect for you is nothing compared to God's love. Thank you for standing for the truth and telling his family the truth. I would've been very disappointed in you if you had accepted their offer and went with them. Thanks for sharing your sad but inspiring and satisfying story!

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28 If you are a god child you should know to forgive and it will set you free and find peace. I know they did you wrong but why hold so much anger and grudge when that is not what god Bible tell us. Forgive and let go of the hurt and it will set you free. Just move on with your life✨️🙏❤

This story is so funny to me. It reminds me of my own where in my first marriage, my parents were using the traditional ways/relatives to obtain my dowry then when I wanted to divorce the traditional way, all of a sudden, I didn’t exist. Then I met my husband now and what do you know, my parents are there again trying to collect another dowry the traditional way. I’m like whatever with these OGs, I’m so done with them. 🙄

I'm a hluas nkauj never been narried but since I'm only 4'9" 100lbs. She said I'll have kids that can't even climb a pepper plant and I look like a chicken that's about to die. She refused to look at my kids, call me nyab. We paid for my dowry. We've been together for 24 years. My kids are almost 6feet even taller than her son(my husband). I still don't have a wedding but I dont care for one. Ill do an American wedding soon but only inviting people who matters. Now that she's old and nobody wants her especially the nyab she loved so much so she moved in with us and ass kissing me so much. Some days I hate her , but she's still the mother of my husband so ill let her stay here but I don't love her.

Sister, first of all, they didn’t want you because they made-up a rule saying that only the divorce guy can come and do your wedding. That’s a shitty rules and I’ve never heard it, that’s why your father in law got karma. My advice to you is don’t be there nyab and don’t call them mother and father in law. And be a good rode model to the old and young generations so they don’t do the same thing to pog nrauj. I think that in the past, I’ve heard a lot of neej neeg about these stories and at the end, the nyab had to take care of the old mom and father in law, you be the one that gets the karma. But listening to your story, it brightens my day at the end. You are my rode model

No such thing. It was just the excuse the guy's parents used to prevent the marriage from happening. These in-laws are a real piece of work and they have zero shame: first they make up a lie, then later when the dil is successful and they want to be a part of that success, they act like everything is hunky-dory and the dil should now come be a part of their family. Outrageous and shameful behaviors!

Feel so bad for the husband. The title is super offensive. If the wife sees her husband as such a loser, how can she love and respect him as her husband? The main focus of her story is how much of a loser her husband is and how his parents should have thanked her for being with such a loser. Everything else was fillers.

I'm happy for you and your success. It's was all an excuse from your husband's family bcos they didn't like you that's all. It have nothing to do with the tradition. But i believe that you are a child of God that's why your path lead you to Him. So forgive them and move on. You are a child of God. Blessings to you and your family.

Wonderful story. Do not give them credit for torturing your path to success, as if you never had it in you to start with! Also Its not the old tradition, its the people. Twisting/corrupt rules can happen in traditional culture or church. But thats some bs from the OGs. Church/bible has come a long way from excluding people, its overdue for hmong to use tradition righteously too.

This lady is too passionate. Just be grateful for the lesson they have taught you so you don't follow their paths. There's nothing wrong with the culture and traditions. The problem lies upon your husband's parents and not the culture or traditions. Blame it on them please! You're 18 years old and can make your own decisions. No need to add or include toxic and cruel people like your husband's family in your life. Your husband is also 18 years old, let him make his own decisions. He should know whats right from wrong. You owe no one nothing, life is too short, do what makes you happy. Tell your husband parents that you've already learned your lesson, now its time for them to learn theirs.

Why are you still going grudge to things that doesn’t even matter? You shouldn’t go back bc you have seen the truth that you are a sinner and in need of a savior. Everything else/traditions is man made and means nothing. That should be the only reason why you can’t go back, Not how they treated you. It’s sounds like if you could go back in time and they took you in, you would accept it VS knowing Jesus now. Check your salvation and be born again. Forgive them and move on with your life.

Sister stays your ground. Hmong only want and need you when they know. They can depend on you 2 in the future. But in their heart, they still don't love you. You have your right to just like them have the right to reject you to become their nyab. Txiv Yawng family have mental problems. He should apology to his nyab instead upset to his nyab. She is not the problems. The problems is from other family.

Idk why Hmong people hate divorced people so much when they’re ALL miserable in their marriages. I’d rather be divorced than a niam yau, someone who keeps being cheated on, or abused.

I got bored listening to this lady rant. If it’s that bad, there’s no future. Switching to Nancy and Secrets.

Who cares what anybody says! Live your life the best you can make it! Just listen to what they said, making excuses, “hmoob lub qhov ncauj hais xwb, tsis muaj dab tsi li!” Exactly right, hmoob lub qhov ncauj xav hais li cas thaum yus txom nyem thiab thaum luag tsis xav yuav yus ces lawv hais li cas los tau!
