Again, maybe you just edited out your reaction of that part or didn’t have anything to say about it, but I just wanted to let you know it was there! Awesome video and I love your perspective on the album, typically I always see vocal coaches reacting to her music so it’s cool to see the breakdown of the songs from an instrumental and rhythmic standpoint!

Just like magic info: 1.The crickets in just like magic was a cute reference to a project by Mac Miller called Crickets 2. She also has a line in just like magic “and write some love letter to heaven” meaning sending love to mac the more you know 🤍
@laylascott60964 жыл бұрын
Just like magic is about law of attraction/manifestation. I’m sure that’s probably a nod to Mac but it’s not the message of the song
@crops29833 жыл бұрын
Not to drag u,but why must u always reference her song to her ex's.just like magic doesn't have anything to do with mac miller(at least I don't think so). The real reference to mac miller was from "off the table" even the last part of "off the table" is from his (mac miller's) song called "2009" I think(I don't really listen to him.)
@K1RA7953 жыл бұрын
@@crops2983 no yea just like magic is definitely not about mac miller but it does have subtle hints about him, ‘love letters to heaven’ which is clearly about mac miller, the others are definitely theories and are questionable if they were intentionally supposed to be like that. but yea that part is definitely referencing mac miller. and the end of her song obvious has the same chord progressions as mac millers song ‘come back to earth’ these are only theories tho, dont take them by heart if u dont want to
@K1RA7953 жыл бұрын
@@crops2983 its only references but that doesnt mean that the song is about him i think is what you’re saying
@crops29833 жыл бұрын
@@K1RA795 come on now,I wasn't (directly) saying that this song has nothing or has something to do with mac miller,it's just people keep referencing him to every other song,for me "just like magic" has absolutely nothing to do with mac miller, except maybe that line(emphasize on maybe). If he doesn't have anything to do with the song,then why mention his name??? It's just getting repetitive,as I've said in my (previous) comment that the real reference to mac miller is on "off the table" and nothing else... edit:I don't mean to come so offensive I'm just trying to tell people that they should stop always bringing up his name.

Hey Koji! I thoroughly enjoy your reviews! Your ear is so keen and sharp! Also, thanks for picking up my Sawayama recommendation. That being said, I have another recommendation. I'm not sure if you analyze albums in Spanish, but I really would love to see your interpretation to "Miss Colombia" by Lido Pimienta. It's an album that brings African roots to the forefront with all the percussive instruments, yet manages to sneak some experimental in there. I feel like it is such a new sound, not to mention her voice is incredible. I will say, there are two songs in there that are very bare and raw where she gave the spotlight to the Sexteto Tabalá she used to record her album. If you want a taste I'd recommend "Nada" from the album. Also, love to see your channel growing!!!
