13 years later, I finally found this music track. Also, for those wondering, VGMDB says the composer for the soundtrack is Takayuki Negishi. Apparently he is also the person who made the music for all of Cardcaptor Sakura.

I love how this perfectly captures the major themes of the show. The flow of time never stopping, contrasting with the immortal's lack of change, the mysteries of Yggdrasil, the sprinkles of unfamiliarity that eventually loops back to the usual cycle, even the voices/wishperers of the previous immortals are incorporated into this two minute masterpiece!

I watched Better Call Saul Season 3 episode 8: "Slip" today and at 29:25 in that episode, the tune Jimmy casually plays on the electric guitar after saying "Humans suck" reminded me of this OST!!! I'm glad I remembered just now it was from Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne which I watched in June 2022 and not Death Note or Witchblade (the latter I recently saw also) Was soo confused, but I Pinned it now!!! Such a good theme from this show!! Quite like Death Note!

To be completely honest, I saw this anime three years ago. At that time I wasn't familiar with depression or character death. It didn't hit me until I was 17. Not that I don't want to watch this anime again, I'm afraid to watch this anime again, because I fear I might start breaking down from watching Koki die.

Theres many anime out there that i.m.o are more depressing than mnemosyne. Ergo Proxy was so far the worst for me. But saying worst is relative since I love this stuff. Ergo proxy by far one the best anime I've ever watched. The artistry and bleakness along with the underlying message and despair. All that said. It takes a mature personality to let yourself go to the edge and not fall off. Don't put yourself through it if you know you can't. Peace be with you

This anime kind of gets a bad rap. Yes, there is a lot of sexual imagery and such, and some of it is probably utter fanservice, I wouldn't necessarily know because I try to steer clear of shows with a lot of pointless fanservice, but most the the graphic scenes seem warranted or at least fit with the show and aren't a pointless distraction. There was a great dissection of the show and how it uses the idea of human body unbound being the ultimate freedom, but I haven't been able to locate it again.

Im a real fan of the series and as you say, yes it does have alot of nudity and explicit content both violent and sexual, I feel that it is always for a reason. Never is something done just because it can or in a fanservicey sort of way.

Outta da Blue I totally agree. it’s not fan servicey at all.. but I think now a days it goes over people’s heads. or ANY nudity is immediately and unjustifiably dubbed “fan service” I wish it wasn’t the case and anime viewers could tell them apart. because there def is an abundance of fan service in this form of media. but oh well.
