She was always more than a pop singer. She went to one of the biggest music uni in Japan and always did opera. Her art is something else. Like real art!!

As for his comment about the beginning sounding Celtic - Kokia actually studied music in Ireland at one point! I'm Scottish and lived in Japan for a while, and that's one of the things I love about her music; that it's an amazing blend of Japanese/Celtic/Arabic/lots of other influences and it is just mesmerising. And of course she just has an incredible voice and incredible emotion as she sings. I always freeze whenever her music comes on my playlist, because it's so breathtaking I can't concentrate on anything else !

It's amazing that you reacted to her music, thank you soooo much for it! :) This song is very beautiful, I love live version from History concert tour 2012, amazing performance. Can you react her song "Il Mare Dei Suoni" live version from History concert tour 2012? It's something different by her, because Kokia has classical and operatic music education, she rarely use that type os singing, but in this song she singing more operatic, her voice, technique vocal control and range are incredible in this performance. For explanation, not full lyrics are in backwards, only chorus.

知らない外国の言語を聞くと言葉の意味よりその言語の癖とかリズムに注目がいきます。日本語の癖って日本人自身には分からない。そこで逆から読むことで　日本語知らない外国人からしてどんな風に聞こえてるかを日本人でも知ることができる　もちろん外国人からしたら日本人を日本語を逆に読んでも日本語に聞こえる。

for me her best song is "onto no oto" but to be honest kokia ( akiko yoshida) is not my fav japanese singer who is another akiko "akiko shikata" you can try "pantalea" but the rare "lives" song from her would NEVER be very good ( she still have an amazing voice) because she have a monstruous stage fear, so she is NEVER calm on stage but always very afraid!
