I was sour on X8 because of X7. It wasn't until MUCH later that I looked at it without that perspective. It's a good game, just too bad X7 had to be so terrible.

@@edge3220 X7 is bad vut its not even as bad as people say it is. X6 on the other hand needs to be shoved in a locker, flilled with cement and dropped to the bottom of an ocean trench.

X8 is a nice game, but I guess being the game after X6 and X7 made the thing difficult and people didn't buy it because of that

it's a good game if you're like me and feel the way the characters play is more essential to your experience than how the stages are designed (i love Mega Man & Bass for the same reason)

X1 and x8 are the only ones I got to play back then so I always thought it was cool, I assumed the others were too till I heard some stuff about x6 and 7. That said every megaman game has solid music and a lot of times there’s leitmotifs from older songs like squid adler and tech krakens stages or viles theme in x1 and copy x’s 2nd form

I remember this being the first MMX game I beat and was excited to go to the Jakob elevator. Also, the twist that Sigma wasn’t the true villain surprised me because it’s usually the other way around.

Man I can't describe how happy your music made me, is like I'm a HUGE fan of Megaman and almost all my childhood / adolescense grew up with this music in my head, so is a very nice revival of that time. I remember the exciment X5 was, forget about X6, X7, and then X8 came back with pure ROCKKK, uff, great sunday!

I played through the entirety of X1, X2, X4, and X5, and immediately understood why many people say they're good. X5 had its problems, but I wouldn't say it's bad. X6? Ugh, I see why many people hate it, including myself. For those who consider it a guilty pleasure, I understand and respect your opinion. X7... I definitely see why people hate X7, but I personally consider it a guilty pleasure. As for X8, people call it a return to form. I personally don't understand why people say that. Many people say X4 wasn't challenging at all, to which I say it is, and unlike X8, the challenge feels real and not artificial. And if anything, X8 was an even bigger radical departure from the series than X7, second only to Command Mission.

Assuming the first Navigator dialogue is at the upper Troposphere (17 KM in the air), and the last Navigator dialogue is at the lower Exosphere (700 KM in the air), and there is 3 minutes and 30 seconds of time in the stage (as the pre-Vile section is a complete autoscroller), the elevator moves at an average speed of ~11800 Kilometers per hour/~7300 Miles per hour

X8 is a flawed game, but the music in the Jakob Elevator is certainly a massive highlight. Sick remix too!

X8 is flawed, yes. That's a reasonable statement. I personally say the game was overhyped, and I honestly would've rather liked to see what could've been done better than X7 with 3D. And I'm aware some would say that X7 was bad solely because of the 3D parts, but I've heard people say MegaMan Legends is great, and I've even seen people praise Command Mission, and those were 3D, but done correctly. Now, I definitely would play MegaMan Legends if given the chance, because it definitely looks good. And as for Command Mission? Nope. Not a chance. You ask me, I say that was an even dumber idea than X7.

X8 was my second MMX game and I loved it tbh So much time spent with my bros looking for secret items and farming rare metal for the shop... I'm actually fine with Megaman games having really difficult parts if there's an in-game shop to make it easier
