Hi. Thanks for your comment. This video mostly talks about how important to have a good-looking nose tip. Having a decent nose tip with a great angle makes people's side profile looks much better. That's why more patients visit us for tip surgery than bridge augmentation. Rhinoplasty is more about looks, and septoplasty focuses more on nasal function. Patients prefer to use their own cartilage from the ears or nose or their costal rib. It is easier to get the cartilage from your ears or nose(Septoplasty) than the rib, but when patients want more drastic changes with their nose, cartilage from your rib works better. Costal cartilage is bigger and harder than the cartilages from people's ears and the nose. Patients also can choose to use donated costal cartilage for rhinoplasty, but the result could be more various than using their own costal cartilage. Donated cartilage must be disinfected for hygiene, and this will make patients' recovery time longer compared to the case when patients use their own cartilage because chemical treatment should go along with disinfection of donated cartilage. The doctors also prefer septum cartilage for tip surgery. Septoplasty could improve both look and the function of your nose.
