I'd like to recommend Seventeen's cover of Mamamoo's "Decalcomanie" - if you wanna hear DK and Seungkwan letting go and just going crazy with their vocals, that's one of the best out there and it's got some AMAZING harmonies.
@peach59404 жыл бұрын
Both DK and Seungkwan have their own speciality. DK has better falsetto while Seungkwan is better in belting. When you combine those two it will become masterpiece !
@fridanianoname45604 жыл бұрын
seungkwan (blond hair) is known for his belting while dk is more for his falsetto. i'd recommend watching they covering other singers songs or solo work to see their true potential tbh this is not their best performance, i think this was their 2nd/3rd night of a consecutive show in 2017 , i know its no excuse but they both have improved since then

Dk is the one who got me into seventeen... his voice & seungkwan support each other in the group like puzzle pieces
@kpoppapi14934 жыл бұрын
I find your comments about the holding back quite sad because both these members are the most emotional in the group and will cry at the drop of the hat. This is also considered to be one of the best vocal performances in Kpop. Plus you should know that DK while being an extraordinary Vocalist tends to lack confidence because as a trainee he was often overlooked when it came between him and the other vocals in the group. Even now after being considered as one of the best vocals in Kpop he still fights with insecurities
@puca35694 жыл бұрын
I think by holding back he means in terms of riffs and runs that they are doing a few riffs and runs (which are considered an expression of emotion) but he would like to hear more of those specific types of singing from them during this performance. He also elaborates that he wants them to sing a bit freer, which I think is fair since it's his opinion and preference.
@cassie25133 жыл бұрын
@@puca3569 true true, if that’s the case then you know, I’d watch another reaction to them singing another ‘freer’ song 👀😂 But I also think if they knew what they were singing (like with subs) then at least they’d get the feeling of the lyrics and not just on how they sing it, because that depends on the message they want to give, along with the meaning of the song. I mean, DK and Seungkwan can hold back or be freer so us carats really are spoiled with their talent and skill to show multiple concepts of performing❤️💯
@J_young_8243 жыл бұрын
Being casted in Musicals really proved that DK is one of the best vocalist in Kpop industry. I'm so proud of him when he first joined Musicals Xcalibur in South Korea. Woow like man that's so lit!

you should react to more svt lives. They are insanely vocally gifted group that everyone can sing. Even the rap line and performance team slays harmonies and high notes :))
@LizelleMatthews4 жыл бұрын
I think from this (and the Habit performance on Patreon, thank you!) that it's Seungkwan you really like? Whilst DK has the kind of voice that can fill a soccer stadium, I prefer listening to Seungkwan more precisely because he seems like a more technical singer. He really, really clings to notes, and my ears just relax a lot more when I listen to him. You don't have to react to them, but I think you might enjoy 'Beautiful Tomorrow', 'Love Poem' and 'Beautiful Moment' as well, which are songs by other artists that he covers. In my own opinion I feel that people sometimes think he doesn't have a good voice because he doesn't have crazy projection like DK, but he has an amazing vocal range and good singing technique, you don't see him strain often. He does seem to prefer softer ballads to power ballads though. If you are going to react to musical performances and year-end stages though, in general be wary, because I've heard a LOT of crazy sound-balance issues, especially from MAMA.

@justadrianalima4 жыл бұрын
One detail you missed is that you didn't understand the song. The lyrics and message of the song is regretful and downhearted. The song is sad to begin with --and that's what they're trying to relay and portray at the moment, not just in emotion but in tune as well. These boys can go all out if you want but that's in accordance to the concept and message of the song. I mean, that's a stage musical actor you're reacting to. Anyway, that's one thing to keep in mind when reacting to music in foreign language. Thank you.

Ok thank god, i keep seeing vocalists going bananas abt dk's (MAD impressive) vocals, but kind of lukewarm on seungkwan's tone. I feel exactly like you!!! Seungkwan's voice just HITS me right in the heart, there's something about how he sings that just buries me in emotions Also yeah, there's some weird thing in Kpop that like, puts singing high on a weird pedestal as the ult skill so a lot of songs focus on those higher registers. I'd love more songs that utilize both DK and SK's lower registers
@lorfasiled52917 күн бұрын
DK voice is so clean and clear no doubt for it. although its not his best but he nailed it

@thezircadia2 жыл бұрын
This is very satisfying because Seungkwan is realllly becoming my ult for male vocalists, and he really deserves more praise. I feel like Seungkwan is giving me more emotion, and DK always feels clean but his vocals don't touch me the same way. I especially appreciated him complimenting Seungkwan's upper register in comparison. Don't get me wrong, DK is a beautiful vocalist and Seventeen is full of stunning vocals, but Boo is the one for me. :D

I'm not a professional but I feel like this is not really the type of song in which you can let go or belt out certain notes... I don't think anybody can add much more to what these two are singing Also I think DK is not really the type to use/move his body when he sings, he mostly uses only his face/facial expression and his hand (sometimes) and personally I can feel the emotions just by seeing it

I just recently discovered this song (love it), which led me to your reaction. I realize my comment is a year late, but here goes anyway: I don’t think we should compare/contrast with western artists so much. Coming from such a conservative culture, this WAS belting for them. I happen to think DK has an outstanding falsetto and R&B style ad-libs come very naturally for him. If you watch this again, listen for him more towards the end. Seungkwan (blonde) has more earthiness to his voice and gives you more of a performance, at least with his expressions. I love his voice the best too, but please give DK the respect he deserves. They wrote this, btw.

One thing I could probably say is please react to subbed videos next time, or maybe read the English translation before or after you react to something. Whether it be a choreo or a song. Being able to understand the meaning of the lyrics contributes greatly in understanding deeper the meaning behind every detail in a choreo and every chord in a song. This song itself contains so many desperate feelings in it, literally 'begging someone to stay'. Imagine saying 'please just stay here with me' in utter despair but through a song, that's how literally they sounded like.

I’d love to see Albert react to some of Pentagons vocals like Thank You which is an album track or some of the covers by their members. There are many great vocalists in kpop.
