Live comment time? I think it's live comment time... (You know, I knew this one was coming, I asked how bad it was going to be...and yet I still don't feel prepared). NOT THAT SCENE AS AN _IMMEDIATE_ ATTACK, ALAINA, NO! Surely you could've at least *tried* to gently ease into the pain! These lyrics with them are just not okay. Not okay in the least little bit. I am in pain. The way she inspired him to genuinely _want_ to be better. She didn't make him a better person, he truly did that all by himself to be worthy of her. And how he was fully prepared to just slide back into his old behaviour because he didn't see the point in trying any more. He didn't want to be that person he was before her, there was just no one else who encouraged him to truly work at it. The rest of the Mikaelsons moaned about him being a wildcard, the black sheep of the family, but they never tried to help or inspire him to be better. They just punished him for not conforming with what they wanted of him - which changed with the wind, let's be honest. One minute his _tendencies_ were a liability and they had to stop him, the next they were a source of eye rolling or amusement and sometimes they were even exactly what the other siblings wanted him to be. (for various reasons, including a selfish desire to not be the 'worst' of the siblings)... They truly fought so hard for each other. Every single time. Davina was truly the only one who _never_ stopped fighting for Kol. Never stopped trying to make good on the promise they _all_ made him. And what thanks did she get for it? From any other member of the family? They belittled her, got in her way, used her for their own ends...Ugh. The hand parallels will never not destroy me. I blame them for my particularly high standard when it comes to hand touches T____T I said to you before, the nerve of Freya to question why Kol might have wanted to keep a picture of Davina, the love of his centuries long life, the only one who ever truly fought for him, the only one who ever truly believed in him...the person _Freya_ took from him. The nerve in unbelievable. Hahahahahaahha, I've already seen it, but 1:29 - 2:00 . They suffered through so much, both separately and together, and, even knowing they were one of the few TVDU couples to get a happy ending...it hurts. And those parallels are just utterly gut wrenching. Especially the way that everyone, even the people who were supposed to love and care about them, was always so willing to sacrifice them - often with barely a moment's hesitation...I hate everything. No wonder Kol immediately recognised her as a kindred soul... It's been what, four, nearly five years, and I still get choked up at Kol's desperate _'nothing worked'_ After they fought so hard to get back to each other, fought so hard to protect each other, for Kol to have been the one to kill her (even if there really wasn't anything he could've done against the power of the Ancestors)...I hate the writers so much. 'This way you owe me one'...and back and forth, back and forth...they really _never_ once stopped sacrificing everything they could for each other. 2:50 - the way she just lights up at the idea that they can finally escape together. Finally just _be_ together, away from all the drama, away from everything but each other. UGGGGH. And the sincerity of her nod after 'anywhere?' She really would've lived in a barn somewhere in the remote wilderness if it was what it took, even after being trapped in that one little room in the church for so long, she really would've been happy absolutely anywhere with him. I'm not crying, you are. Can you believe they finally got their happy ending? That they, out of all the couples, after all they've suffered, are happily married and just enjoying being together. Just existing. The Queen of Kolvina once again proves she has more than earned her crown. As ever, I bow down before your talent.

This is utterly gorgeous. Never read a caption that is more true. Totally agree with you. I love ships like Klayley, Rebel, Steferine, Stelena, Bonenzo, Bonkai, Freelin, Jayley... but while they're all brilliant and equally epic in their own way Kolvina was the only truly equal ship in tvdu where both fought just as hard for each other and despite how hard the world was to them they never took it out on each other. They truly are kindred spirits. Hell, they even have parallels between their deaths too with their first deaths being by enemies while they were trying to do something good (Davina thinking she'd just go into a temporary coma to empower all witches and Kol trying to stop them from raising Silas), and their second deaths being at the hands of a Mikaelson.
