I don't understand why you came to Kolkata. Since you were in Jaigaon, you needed to get visa from Siliguri Bangladesh Embassy. And then in Mithali Express NGP Mane from New Jalpaiguri Station to Dhaka train ticket to be able to come to the next train one day. I gave you my number. I could have told you if you called me. Anyway, you can book tickets from Kolkata Fairley Place. The ticket counter there opens at nine in the morning and remains open till two in the afternoon. If you don't get a direct Dhaka train ticket, you can come to Khulna by Bandhan Express. Then visit Sundarban Mongla Port Sixty Dome Mosque, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Tomb in Khulna and after a day or two you can come to Dhaka by bus over Padma Bridge. Or you can take direct Kolkata to Dhaka bus from Kolkata New Market. The bus that comes across the border must come on that bus. Green Line or Shyamoli NR Travels direct bus tickets should be booked. But if possible avoiding Haridaspur border you can come by green line bus through Bhomra border. It will reduce the crowd. Haridaspur border has a lot of passenger pressure lately. So the suffering is also very high. In Kolkata it is not right to give passport to other people like this. There are some good agencies that take passports from home. One year multiple entry visa. The money is a bit high, but the service is very good. And if you exchange rupees or dollars in Dhaka, you can definitely do it from Motijheel Adamji Market or Gulshan No. 2 Gol Chatwar Exchange.And of course bring some rupees from Kolkata New Market in exchange while leaving Kolkata. Because the rate will not be good at the railway station. But if you come to Bye Road, you must exchange at the border. It will get good rate.There is a well known grandfather of rupee exchange in Kolkata. He rates better than many. Let me know if needed. I will send the address of his shop. If you can come to Bangladesh, I hope to get a call from you. stay well brother You can call me for any need, I will try my best.

Myself a resident of Kolkata & your very old subscriber & admirer, as well. Have visited Bangladesh for numerous times during the last 26 years. There's NO point in coming to Kolkata to apply for a Bangladeshi visa. There's an application center at Siliguri as well. It's much much easier, quicker to apply there, than in Kolkata. There's a direct train to Dhaka from NJP, (near Siliguri), as well. Coming to Kolkata is a sheer wastage of time, money & energy. Don't know, who advised you to travel this way. But for sure, it makes no sense. However, if it's not inconvenient to you, would like to meet you in person. in here in Kolkata. Look forward to such an opportunity.

Yeah true, but I feel that it's the same in all places. Even I have lived my entire life in Delhi and Mumbai, people of every place in India are less rude than people of these two cities. But yeah corruption was not that much in Bengal previously, now it has become way more rampant among govt officers. Bengal is going through a very rough phase due to huge out migration because of less job opportunities present there. We had an economics class in Wharton and had a class topic regarding this phenomenon in India. This is what I feel. Every places I lived in Mumbai and Delhi had a plethora of generational migrated Bengalis.
