The white old building is Victoria Memorial, built by the then British rulers, in memory of the late British Queen Victoria. It's built with white marble with a big bronze statue of a winged person on top of the dome. This statue stands on a pool of mercury so that it can rotate with wind, at times. This memorial houses a museum of artefacts (paintings, books, etc.) from the British times. The compound is huge and has lawns, gardens, small lake and a small cafeteria. At the main entrance there is a huge bronze statue of the late Queen Victoria sitting on a throne.
