I'll discuss my Volvo bus journey from Kolkata to Puri in this video. All of a sudden, I had my Puri's idea. As a result, I was unable to reserve any tickets for the train. I used the Shyamoli Paribahan's Volvo Bus Service to make my seat reservations. I payed about 1000 rupees for a sleeping berth, there is also recliner chairs available which would cost you roughly 600 rupees.. Around 8:00 PM, we started our journey. In told, it took roughly 11 hours to arrive to Puri. The journey went smoothly and was comfortable. We arrived at Puri the following morning at 7.00 AM. Between Kolkata and Puri, there are several operators that run Volvo buses. If you decide to visit Puri at the last minute and are unable to get train tickets, you can rather try utilizing one of these Volvo buses.
The city and municipality of Puri are located alongside the sea in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. It is situated on the shore of Bay of Bengal, 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of the state capital of Bhubaneswar, and acts as the district headquarters for the Puri district. In recognition of the city's Jagannath Temple, established in the 12th century, it is sometimes referred to as Sri Jagannatha Dhama. It is among the first Hindu Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Since ancient times, Puri has gone by various names. It was originally known as "Sri Kshetra" and the Jagannath temple as "Badadeula" in the surrounding community.
Along with Sringeri, Dwarka, and Jyotirmath, the Govardhana Matha in Puri was founded by Adi Shankaracharya and has since developed into one of the four main dhams (divine centers) for Hindus. In 810 AD, Adi Shankaracharya made his first visit to Puri. The leader of the Matha is Jagatguru Shankaracharya. Local folklore says that Lord Vishnu eats in Puri, takes a bath at Rameshwaram, stays overnight at Dwarka, and does penance at Badrinath. The sixteenth-century Indian Bhakti movements, now known as the Hare Krishna movement, were started by Bengali-born Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In Puri, he spent a great deal of time worshiping Lord Jagannatha. Furthermore, Radhakanta Matha, a matha belonging to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, is located in this vicinity. Under the Government of India's Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) program, Puri has been chosen as one of the heritage cities.
