You censor too much shit, bud. And it's obviously for selfish reason (ads) too, because nobody who's looking into Django Unchained is going to be concerned about some "bad words" or...whatever innocuous nonsense you blurred out. Just go outside of KZbin for your revenue, and you can do whatever. It's not complicated.

Agree. Will Smith couldn’t have played Django. Jamie Foxx was the man. My favorite portrayal was Christoph Waltz personally.
@chadd990 Жыл бұрын
yeah I think that Smith probably turned the role down not because he thought the character was a sidekick, but because he knew Tarantino expected a good performance from him. Just like Foxx described in the video, I think Smith's ego was too big at this point to get acting lessons from Tarantino on how a slave should talk.

While everyone wanted to see a new Tarantino film, i honestly thought the trailer looked kinda corny until i realized later when i saw the second trailer that Leonardo was actually going to play the villain for the very first time in his career , that made me die to want to see the movie & hes playing a supporting role after this far in his career ??? Those are the best kind of villains ever!!! All the famous type casted good guy actors best performances of they're entire careers are when they finally get to play the bad guy , same reason i wanted to see Training Day so bad when the trailer first came out knowing Denzel Washington was going to finally play a dark role , it was music to my ears to discover Leo was finally going to do it because those roles always are amazing & Oscar worthy & obviously i didn't prove myself or anyone else wrong did i???

If Will Smith thought Django was a "sidekick," then I don't think he really understood the script. Django was the main focus of the story and Dr. King-Schultz helped him along his journey. It was fitting he killed Calvin Candie. It was a truly cultured and sophisticated gentleman eliminating the wannabe who fancied himself to be everything King-Schultz was but wasn't (which was also a comment on the Antebellum South).

#1: physics works differently in Tarantino's world, where a human body can absorb bullets and nothing gets through, except when the hero shoots. Where a woman can be shot in one direction and fly off in another one 90 degrees different. Where bullets make people go flying, except when they don't. Where revolvers have 127 bullets in them.

This was my lesson to Dixie, as I gave this story to Quentin Tarantino within the hallowed halls of the Chicago Theological Seminary which trained some of the brightest leading lights of the Civil Rights Movement in America. Poor Quentin was completely and utterly clueless about racism. Since I had been a racist myself until the age of 7 and had lived in Dixie all my life, I knew there were holdouts, vestiges of Confederate fanaticism lingering in the hoots and hollers that needed persuasion and that the only way to persuade them was to portray them fairly. That was why I needed a "good German" for Django Unchained, to compare the primitive primeval folk of pre-nazi Deutschland against the flower of Southern chivalry. Worked out pretty well.
