If your words is true then Akshay would not have delivered National Award winning performance in Sarfira. His appearance as Lord Shiva in OMG2 gives us goosebumps whenever he is there on the screen, find me any other bollywood actor who could do that. Everybody has bad days but it doesn't mean you have got a license to question his/her ability.

He is Akshay Kumar, he earned his name,fame on his own strength and will continue to do so. Everybody has both Good and Bad Phase, So he also goes through the same. There has been years when Sachin failed pathetically to score well but still he was Sachin. Same goes with him, he gave 20+ successful film from 2012-2019 with 15+clean hits, finally his half dozen remakes ended and now with Original films he will be again back. I strongly disagree with your point that a hero should be good looking in movies every times, it is not necessary , if script demands actors should go with rough and raw look Daccan Air was a failure in real life so according to you then how movie is inspirational , but movies are made for entertainment and commercial purposes so It is not necessary that whatever happens in real life should be shown in the film

Had the pleasure of seeing both films. Even though the film was adapted almost 1:1 and some actors were seen twice, the second directorial effort had much more depth and impressed me more. Akki Sir and his fellow contestants showed a lot more emotions. Sarfira has more oomph and the music is better. One of Akki's best films. My heart clearly speaks for the second version. But I would request Komal sir to be mindful when he reviews the screenplay and story. Sometimes, I think he reveals too much information about the story and screenplay. Today, he could have avoided telling the viewers about the demise of the father.

I have always respected your reviews of the films. I believe you are one of the few unbiased critics left in the fraternity of film critics. Of late I think you are slipping. I read your reviews of Kalki and Sarfira and then decided to watch the films. Both the films turned out to be exactly opposite of your reviews. Kalki is one movie you could have ripped it to pieces. If you are afraid of taking on the big production houses, it is no surprise that Sarfira got the treatment it did not deserve. If you are talking about audience reaction and clapping, there was not a single moment in Kalki where audience started clapping or where enthralled by any scene in the movie. In fact I could see most people where waiting for the movie to get over. It was punishment to sit thru this 3 hours of torture and madness. In contrast Sarfira is an extremely well made movie. It grips you from the word GO. I could see the audience felt they were a part of the journey and were enjoying the movie thoroughly. Isn't that the litmus test of a movie well made? Akshaykumar has a macho image and is miscast is a point nobody notices. In fact he perfectly fits into the role. He doesn't cry too often which you mentioned in your review. His appearance and beard are bownie points you cold have avoided. It doesn't matter if it is a remake of a Tamil film. Your question "How did it change India?" It did by introducing a low cost budget airline. I am just feeling sorry that a seasoned critic like you couldn't see the implication of David vs. Goliath story in this. As if there is a conspiracy against Akshaykumar everyone is out to get him. Give devil its due. If its a good movie say without any fear or compuction. The paying public will thank you for that.
