castings are a expensive but signs of a well engineered machine as castings allow welding to taken place in a area of less stress.

Some years ago I spotted one of these "monsters" on a construction sight in PA just off of Hwy 81. It was a reddish-orange color with the cab removed for maintenance, I presume. There was another Komatsu dozer near by about the same size. I stood inside the bucket and my 6-ft height was about even with the top edge.

Visibility must of been the shits with how the ROPS canopy is configured. The 'Kommie's' had some nice features over the Cat machines like a decelerator pedal which was nice for working in tight quarters. I'm not really sure where a track loader of this size and weight would be used. Maybe a landfill like you were mentioning but that's about all I can think of. lol

I could see one of these doing well in the demo field.

There were some of these used for demolition. Before excavators with grapples became common, big track loaders like these or Cat 983 were the hot setup.

Yes this is the one.

Guess they never used it for pushing trash. Seems like that destroys the machines.

It was rebuilt shortly before being parked. The other is in significantly worse cosmetic shape.

Yea, the basic move in the mud did it. After absolute 2.000 hours the wheels under the tracks were melted down. The cain too. The overweight of more than 10 tons against the Cat 983 was too much for this steel...
