Not bad for a machine with just shy of 90000 cabiliion hours on it ...sweet ... tracks nicely polished and rounded off .... a worker for sure
@justforever9610 жыл бұрын
Funny, it doesn't really look very big without anything to compare it to in the shot. It looks just like any old dozer until you notice the size of the operator in the cab, and the railings around the cab area. Also, what sort of engine they use in these beasts? Doesn't sound like an inline-six, sounds more like a V-8 or even V-12. Sounds great. And that stack....jesus!
@justforever9610 жыл бұрын
I was right...V-12 turbodiesel. Makes sense....just two big inline six diesels with a common crankshaft. Inline six is the best choice for a diesel; the only inherently balanced engine out there except the V12, which is just two I-6's really. Less vibration means longer life for all components, and the configuration gives a good, long stroke for more low-RPM torque combined with even power production and less friction due to fewer cylinders and valvetrain components. But with an engine this big, you really need more than six cylinders or the RPM will be too low. Thus, you use two I-6's and make a V-12, which gives reasonably RPM (and thus horsepower) and cylinders small enough to be efficient and easy to get to operating temperature, along with smooth operation.

The Acco super dozer is a solid piece of heavy machinery. Built with Cat parts and by an Italian engineering genius. The Acco would have a greater tractive effort than the D575A.

awesome to watch big machinery in action, how long is that ripper ??
@aandrave9 жыл бұрын
The blades on these are 16 feet tall, which makes the ripper appear to be in the twelve foot range. The scale of these machines is hard to grasp with nothing next to them.

So what is the ripping all about? Does it soften the earth to bulldoze it afterwards or is it to prepare for another machine to come in?
@deksper10 жыл бұрын
Either option
@movilmixs11 жыл бұрын
after the dozer finished ripping the ground do you put the excavators to load the material that has been soften? and why put just using exavators to do the work?
@Only-one-life-6810 ай бұрын
Most likely a mining excavator with a shovel loading highway trucks. Scrapers possibly but I wouldn’t bet on them..

The Acco dozer is larger than a D575A.
@jamzales10 жыл бұрын
common sense. The ripper breaks up hard ground so it can be moved with dozer scraper and or scooped with an excavator. In the Klondike in Alaska/Canada you need to rip the ground known as permafrost. Boy if parker Schnabel had one of these he could do some damage at his site. Of course this piece of machinery probably cost a pretty penny.

@alco424 LOL, that was a good smartass comment, I laughed. We have a bunch of Komatsu equipment at work. Seems the local SMS dealer has treated us okay but your point is well-echoed out there. Anyway, my personal experience with Komatus is it is good well made equipment thats always harder on fuel than the competitors, But thats my limited experience in their dozers, and excavators. Anyway have a good day.

Don't know why they don't manufacture a three shank ripper, or don't have one in place on that machine? Looking at the highwall it lookes like it's hardpan. One more shank won't stall that machine.

One ripper is all you need. If the hard pan is truly hard it'll break apart just fine. If it doesn't with the one it really isn't that hard anyway. Two or three shanks are just a waste of fuel and time.

You don't say! The Acco dozer is the largest dozer ever built, so how could it be bigger than a D575?! ^^ But now that was not the subject of the discussion.
