Komatsu D61EM with 3X Bracke planter

The Komatsu D61EM is equipped with three planting heads, manufactured by Bracke Forest in Sweden, side by side which makes it a three-row planting machine. The soil is prepared beforehand with a sub-soiler. Every plant receives a preset amount of water through the planting heads. Water tank and plant storage is placed on a trailer behind the Komatsu dozer.

@@hansers361 Thanks! I meant just this 3-row planter. Good for old pastures or other even ground. I've seen a lot of "new" single head planters from Bräcke or Mplanter and such. My self I'm doing it mostly "the old fashion way" manually thou or let the nature decide by seeds. Haha

how will this work in a harvested forest or is it intended for virgin land only?

It could be used on forest reestablishment. However, you must prepare the ground and put the residues aside.

Actually, this was a harvested area. It was a eucalyptus forest before. You need to subsoil using a tool in front of the bulldozer to clean the planting row. You can search for D85 from Komatsu using a Savannah subsoiler with a V blade in front of it. It is a different concept compared with the system in the northern hemisphere. Here in the south, we need to plant the trees in rows to be able to make the weed control every month until the forest has grown, and close the "branches" to avoid the weed growing under the trees, and other kinds of management that we need to do during the 6/7 years of the forest when it is going to be harvested again.
