Gotta love working on Komatsu's. Had to pull the thermostat out of a older '02 model and replace the valve cover gasket and head gasket, still a bit smokey but it works so cant complain.

@@adamh7378 I agree. I love me some Komatsu 🔥🔥

The slow lowering is usually caused by the valve in the bottom of the cylinder failing. The shrink wrap you found is most likely the culprit. Either that valve or the “burst valve” is malfunctioning. I’ve had both. Good luck man, I know you’ll have it figured out.

On the k25 engines there's also a front plate gasket in the water pump area ive had leak as well. Also after filling up the coolant dont forget to bleed the system of air.. if not it'll spike the temp.

Heck ya my guy! Nice to see another mobile tech out here making content. I need to get myself a camera man and editor! Keep at it, youre right! We need to inspire another generation of techs, we're getting slim pickings in the midwest

Had the same thing with plastic in the main lift ram on a 7fb. tripped me out when i pulled the ram out.

Crazy right?

Was that debris plastic? I had a Yale walkie stacker that someone in the factory had left the part number decal on the rod when they assembled it. After six months the plastic had been shredded enough to clog the screen on the pump inlet line. Had to drain the system three times to finally clear it. Also, it might be good to check the hydraulic filter. About the lower lever needing to be pushed only partway: Does that upright have a flow-control valve? Maybe it's clogged too.
@theforkliftguy5 ай бұрын
That’s a really good point about the hydraulic filter, I didn’t think of that. The weird part is, it only does it on the first stage. Second stage works great.

@@theforkliftguy The only flow controls I've ever had trouble with were on Clarks and they were mounted on the bottom of the cylinder. The idea was, if you broke a line and the fluid was going out too fast the valve would slow the flow down and the load would come down slowly. Not sure if you've got one on that truck but it's an idea for the slow lowering problem.
@theforkliftguy5 ай бұрын
@@rogerthomas1982 yeah you might be right about that. If they complain about it, I’ll probably go to the control valve where the levers are and see if it has any of those.

I've replaced over a dozen radiators from the same fail point on those 16 series. Luckily, the aftermarkets are gtg.
@theforkliftguy5 ай бұрын
Have you ever replaced the ones with the transmission lines around the back of it? Instead of the front? Super annoying to replace. I had to remove the counterbalance.
@shootinglaser4 ай бұрын
Sorry, I just noticed your question. Yes, I remove them without removing the counterbalance. I remove the hood/seat, fan & plastic shroud to make room. Then I bend & force out that aluminum shroud wedged between the radiator & counterbalance. That allows me to slide the radiator w/ trans lines attached straight up. Never had cooling issues with the aluminum shroud missing.

The siphon tool has a one way ball valve, when it drops into the fluid the ball moves up allowing fluid in then when you pull it up it seals and holds that fluid in the tube. So each stroke adds a little fluid in the tube and if the outlet is sufficiently lower than the one way valve in the fluid it can allow the fluid to siphon using gravity without having to move the tube up and down.

toyota needs the check valve in the bottom of that rod replaced, or its inside behind the feed line fitting.
@theforkliftguy5 ай бұрын
You’re right! On this one in particular it didn’t have one in the bottom because it was welded. Looked it like was repaired before.
