The archfiends are definitely the most nostalgic for me. I remember trying to collect all of the chess pieces as a kid. But the guardians also have a special place in my heart, with waking the dragons being such an awesome and dark season.

There are so many nostalgic cards from each and every pack for me. I've bought countless times and for the Guardian monsters that Rafael used - I still haven't gotten a single Guardian Grarl and lots of Gravity Axe - makes me quite nostalgic and hopeful that Backup Guardna will be made a real monster card soon in the next Animation Chronicles pack or any upcoming set soon.

Sakuretsu armor is the most nostalgic card for me believe it or not. So many duels we used that card unsure of whether the attacking monster is destroyed before or after it completes its attack and still don’t know lol

As for Butterfly Dagger - Elma, the original also required it to be destroyed to return to your hand, which was why Gearfried the Iron Knight was specifically used often with it

I think the scorpions and guardians defined this set for me. My best friend had don zaloog, judgement of Anubis, and necross. While I pulled guardian grarl, loved the art a lot, and dagger Elma. He usually got the better side of blisters. For IOC he packed both chaos emperor and bls really close together… I never got shit from IOC 😂 tempted to grab an anniversary box of some sort, I think my wife would understand

In the old days, they used to have different Ultra/Secret rares you can pull between the different retail products that were available to buy at the time. Maybe they kept true-to-tradition and did this the same? I noticed a lot of playsets of foils were pulled but the pool of foil cards are much larger than what was pulled.

Gagagigo is my most nostalgic card that I personally played. Also have fond memories of my duel buddies trading blows with our respective guardian cards. I remember not understanding, maybe not vibing would be more accurate, with the archfiend archetypes. Just never seemed to click. And one of my buddies was notorious with his Vampire Lord. Honorable mention to Little-Winguard. Overall, a very fun and diverse set of cards.

I love the Kaiba cards, so Interdimensional Matter Transporter is one of my faves. However the most nostalgic is oddly enough A deal with Dark Ruler. The first Yugioh product I ever got was a pack of this set. I remember this card and Archfiend Soldier being in it as my rare. I loved the artwork of A deal with Dark Ruler but as I was 10-11 years old and Dutch I had no idea what the card did. Still years later I stumbled upon a Beserk Dragon and instantly remembering having the card I need to summon it. Still have that card

My most fondest memories from Dark Crisis was Vampire Lord. I remembered it like it was just yesterday: I went out to buy one pack of DCR from this small gift shop in my area, with the little allowance I had. The rare I got from that pack was Mefist the Infernal General, I was gutted because I had already gotten a Mefist prior to that day's pack. Disappointed, I went back into the shop with my last amount of money to buy one more pack. I opened it and there it was; Vampire Lord.. I was so happy that day! After that I walked to an internet cafe where people gathered to play YuGiOh. Told the people there I just got a Vampire Lord and one guy was so shocked that he actually uttered a loud "WHAAAT?!!" He too was looking for a Vampire Lord himself and so he offered 20 bucks to take it off my hands. I kindly declined him.

Terrorking Archfiend or Ojama Trio would be the big dogs for me. My main deck at the time had 3 Ojama trio's, it was always hilarious to pull 2 on the first turn. When I pulled Terrorking I loved the art so much that I set out to make an Archfiend deck. Still have it to this day but haven't updated it since 2011.
