I cant understand the lyrics but I have a company with Samoan and Tongan staff and NUI FM keeps pumping in the background. @@52ts there could be many reasons - maybe the dad is just not ready to let go of her daughter yet because in our culture, fathers are very protective of their daugthers. Or maybe the guy is not good enough for her daughter. That's the meaning of this song - it's sort of a lamentation by a guy who was in love but they couldn't be together. Edit: and the guy instantly knew that he is not the "choice of the parent" as soon as his flowers landed on the floor hence he closed the box and bowed his head. His visit and his purpose is not welcomed in this house. And the girl sits there - obediently - tears rolling down her face with a broken heart, because her father has given them his answer - NO! But not all is lost - we just have to see what comes next. Love how they use these songs to tell a story and portray our culture.

I felt teary. I love the moral of the clip. And that is real culture but I know in the end LOVE CONQUERS. SAMOA AND TOGA ARE THE SAME with parents very strict with their children.
