Finally someone who agrees with the same QC issues. I agree the figure looks amazing but I did expect the figure to have better joints for that price tag. The hands popping off is so annoying. The fact that people claimed that they have no QC issue is a lie when the waist can't even turn 180 before popping off. The 3.0 ankle doesn't even function well. Although I do agree its not worth the price tag, the sculpt itself surpasses the Official SSJ3 Goku. Anyone who plans on buying these figures better be able to look past the top heaviness or lose joints or dont buy it at all.

Its not a lie. I have all 4 and they are just fine. I have one issue with a loose ankle joint on one but thats it. Outside of the top heaviness these are solid buys.

I disagree I pre ordered all of them the 4 and think they very good the only flaws are heavy hair and wrist pegs are a lil loose other then that they are worth every penny in my book.. the hairs are insanely good

While the hair makes this figure not stand it is the best representation of SSJ3 Goku the faces look like from the anime, Figurarts was great but the faces and hair didn’t buy it for me, Demonical fit which they took the original mold changed the faces to match the anime but that also didn’t buy it for me, And while your copy was not the best and i get the hair doesn’t make him stand on his own well (just get a stand), I’d still say get the Kong Studios if you can find one

This figure is phenomenal I’m not having the problems you’re having yeah it can’t stand but if you collect action figures you should have a extra flight stand laying around just my opinion! I wouldn’t pass this figure if you get a chance to grab one I would jump on it!!

Honestly sucks that due to the designs of ssj3 seems almost all figures and statues will forever be too top heavy to stand on their own

Yeah that does suck. Only way to get around that is to have the hair be hollow so it’s not so heavy or come with a stand

@@NOTaqualover232 the hair is solid plastic so it’s extremely heavy. They could make it so the hair is hollow on the inside so it’s not so heavy. I wouldn’t be so frustrated with it if they just provided a stand to make up for it

@@DudeRetro it's probably not hallow due to it potentially being brittle which is why most SSJ3 figures are solid.

Even the faces… I jus wanted the figure for the faces and they are not great as I thought. You can put the figure with the hair up because the head can’t stand the weight… I prefer to wait until SHF release all the figures with 3.0 bodies and battle damage… because,meras me guys, they are going to do it

Yeah unfortunately kong is notorious for QC issues. Every single figure theyve ever released has had something wrong with it. People tend to overlook them because of how good they look but imo what good is a figure that looks good if it falls apart lol. Thanks for the more unbiased review!

Strange opinion here, Kong makes figures for people who have tons of SHF already. They make stuff SHF wont release. I knew going in this wouldnt stand, SHF made the hair too short on theirs so that it could stand and move and do all those things. Kong takes risks because their more about giving the fans what they want, in terms of designs. I have their "Beast Diety Anpur" or whatever, the SSJ 5. I love it. It cannot stand on its own either, but I have a stand lying for him. He sits on my desk and is cool as heck. I have the SSJ3 Goku's as well and they display real nice too. I think I like the SSJ5 Goku more because, as you mentioned, the Gi on the SSJ3 is a little funky to work with.

After seeing the title I was like- “I need to pick this up!” But after seeing the review I don’t wanna take the risk me personally I prefer black hole toys ultra instinct Goku it comes with tons of accessories and a stand! Mines just arrived today. (Edit) did I mention it’s 50 bucks?

I have the Kong Studios 15 Goku and the problem is the feet are too small to hold up all the dang gone hair. Glad I picked up one but still without a stand it will not stand.

Mine came in the mail with a broken wrist peg so i wasn't happy with it. And the head on mine pops right on and off just by barely touching it. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Kong studios hasn't let me down until now. But man mine was just a pile of shit right out of the box

For reference the og ssj3 is REALLY bad, the faces are horrible. The reason why this was such an anticipated release is cause it uses the 3.0 mold

I respect your opinion, obviously everyone has the right to their own, but the reaction to the waist popping off (in your review and in some of these comments) is baffling to me. Half the point of ball joint like that is to pop apart instead of actually breaking when it’s hyper extended. It’s the the action figure’s way of telling you “hey my guy, you’re being a little rough with the waist twisting, but it’s okay, I’m not broken.” It’s not like a strong gust of wind blows these things apart or anything. I get that you might have been disappointed with the figure, but that’s no reason to get carried away on that aspect.

Sorry, but as a figure reviewer myself that doesnt just happen lol. He barely touched the waist, swivelling it a bit should not cause it to pop off, thats a telltale sign of bad tolerances which frankly kong are well known for.

@@dstr001 I mean, I’m a collector too, and I have a whole lot of figures. Including many many Figuarts, and even a SS3 Kong, and I don’t have a a problem with them, or this happening to my kong figure. He speaks to his lack of experience with Figuarts and third party Figuart similar figures in the video. And I certainly wouldn’t call they way he moved that waist “barely touching” it. If you hyper extend that sort of joint past where it’s meant to go, it’s going to pop apart. As a figure reviewer, like you mentioned, I’d expect you’d know that. But to then act like it’s a broken piece of trash because the waist joint popped off is gilding the Lily, it’s not broken by any definition. It literally pops right back together.

@@jacksparrow7618 These figures are recast from Gohan, and he definitely does NOT just pop apart when you swivel the waist a few times lol. He did not hyper extend anything, he showed the articulation of the ab crunch and swiveled the waist a bit; it should not have popped apart that easily, that means the tolerances are off and the ball joint isnt fitting properly. Kong are well known for their QC issues. Just because a figure looks good does not mean you ignore tolerances or other QC issues.

@@dstr001 I agree that Gohan doesn’t fall apart when you swivel the waist. But neither do any of my Kong figures, including my SS3 Goku and my SSB3 Vegito. Kong isn’t Bandai, so obviously they’re not going to be putting out figures at the same level, but I’ve yet to run into any major QC problems on any of mine. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree about how he handled the figure, but the wrist pegs on mine are fine, too. Kong definitely uses a softer plastic for their hands than Bandai does, and they do come off the wrist peg easier, but I don’t manhandle my figures either. The whole thing just reeks of clickbait to me, especially considering the thumbnail he used. I don’t disagree with your statements about articulation being more important than how a figure looks, either. But I’m also not going to defend someone for popping a ball joint apart and then acting like the figure is literally broken and total garbage.
