When your in the top 5 rankings you have the right to challenge for a championship. Swerve and Hangman are both the top contenders and have issues with each other so they fought for the right to challenge Joe. Since neither won they are still at the same spot and Tony (who is the booker both in the fake wrestling universe and real life) gave them both the shot. Besides it keeps Swerve's and Hangman's storyline going, either of them winning one on one would end the feud. Would you rather not have a triple threat?

@@loooooooongstanding2141 but there is a storyline. Hangman and Swerve have been feuding for months. Hangman can't beat Swerve and it's been driving them crazy. They both want the next shot at Joe and are ready to kill each other for it. Now Hangman is slipping as Swerve is connecting with the crowd even though Swerve was the one started this feud as a villain. Combine that with Samoa Joe portraying himself as someone who only wants to fight people who are worthy (in his minds) for a shot. And now since neither man were able to beat each other Joe now has to contend with both of them. How is that not a story?

I’m an AEW fan, but Konnan is saying exactly what I am thinking here. The shows would drastically look better if they removed Jabroni looking guys like Trent, Rocky Romero, Chuck Taylor, Teven, Mike Kannalis etc. from the show. 6:22

There is no rhythm or reason with there matches, I know Tony is doing his fantasy matches from his childhood, but there’s no enthusiasm because there’s usually only 2000 people in attendance. Maybe if they booked smaller venues the crowd pop would be more intense😖

AEW sucks. Tony Khan has no common sense. He has over a hundred people on the roster, most of which go weeks between appearances, yet he is still signing new people and bringing in guys from Japan. Why? Why not just use the people you have, instead of paying them to sit at home and do nothing?

The show has just been so damn boring lately. More focus on matches and less on story, the exact opposite of what it should be. My thoughts while watching the show were that Jericho looks really awful and needs to retire, the segment with Renee and the Best Friends was really weird, and who wants to see Sting's last match be against The Young Bucks?
