I heard this on my way to work this morning (November 2019) and had to pull over to look up jus what this amazing sound was. As soon as I get to work, I’m gonna go buy ANYTHING of theirs I can find! Holy moly this music sounds SO good, I was dancing in my seat and being genuinely moved at 530am on a cold, Minnesota morning when I’m usually half awake... Why aren’t these guys global mega stars?

This music comes from the very bottom of the human soul. The instruments are hand made from industrial waste. The amps were originally made from car speakers and were powered by 12 volt batteries. I notice they had commercially made amps now. Things must be looking up.

Oder was ganz anderes? +++ Can someone tell me what kind of mics are used here with the likembe? Are they guitar pickups or simple piezoelectric microphones? Or something else? And does anyone know a possible source for such an instrument? Danke, Merci, Thanks

Genial, Great Music! Merci! what is the name of the instrument that produces the distorted electronic sound? it is an electric mbira? I guess the sound is produced by the instrument of the guy at the back close to the "drummer". Thanks!
@xN0ow9 жыл бұрын
Kalimba ?
@josetanago9 жыл бұрын
xN0ow It is weird that it does not sound like kalimba!! kalimba (or Mbira) is what the two other guys are playing that can be heard and seen easyly in the images, but the third guy (just at the back, the youngest) the sound is totally different, like a distorted electric guitar) despite the shape and his posture seems that he is playing a Kalimba (or Mbira)
@lordzombie9 жыл бұрын
josetanago yes! this is what it sounds like when you add pickups (typically piezo transducer) and play with a distortion pedal, or through cheap amplifier
