I recognized the dangers of labels when I was in the 8th grade and realized that our Presidents label themselves Republican or Democrat. How can anyone lead a country when they claim to only agree with half of its people. Next was post 9/11 when the US labeled anyone in a turban a terrorist or insurgent. Instead of just calling them people defending their homes. Labeling packaged things in a way that's easy to understand. The downside is that it removes critical thinking and prevents you from looking beyond the exterior wrapping . You are programmed to look for labels instead of seeing things for what they really are. In these cases, it is somewhat understandable as they need to survive. It's being impractical and illogical to ask people struggling to take care of themselves and family to take on even more responsibilities. But people more well off and have the money to do something just simply don't. There's a lot of simple things we could all do to help, the only thing is society has to give up on some conveniences that we've come to rely on. This really applies mainly to stores and businesses. But I think that's the point so if we were able to pull those people out of poverty for example the first thing they would buy maybe an air conditioning in the next thing they would buy would be a car or a motorcycle so you would have more pollution when they upgrade their lifestyle to the standard we have now. I'm not saying electric cars and solar panels are the solution not even in our country because they create as many problems as they solve for the Earth unfortunately. Maybe one day the technology will get there but it's not there yet. And our energy grids are not prepared for everybody to drive an electric car. I think we need about 50 years to upgrade our systems at the speed we're doing it. Plus you have batteries and solar panels sitting in landfills after they're no longer working. That creates a lot more pollution than you solve plus the mining is nasty. I think one of our greatest potential solutions could be 4th generation nuclear power. Because it can generate a huge amount of power with very little risk. It's not your grandfather's nuclear. But when people hear the word nuclear they think of all the meltdowns in history. My understanding is that if they can perfect the technology for something like a thorium salt reactor it could create a massive amount of energy to generate enough power for a small city with just one school bus sized unit and it cannot melt it down like the old ones and you could bury it when it's finished and it's not dangerous to the Earth like nuclear waste. I'm sure it's not healthy you couldn't eat it or something but it's not like the nuclear we're all scared of. It's actually quite safe but we're not there yet on the technology. My focus would be to focus on that is a total solution. I'm sure solar panels and electric cars help a little bit but not all that much because of all the problems they create. Imagine all those batteries melting into the ground eventually. I think they only last about 10 years and there's way too expensive to recycle. So they will end up in landfills poisoning the earth. The only real difference is they don't put the carbon into the air instead they leak it into the ground but it takes a lot of fossil fuels to mine the materials to make these cars and they use a lot more metal and minerals than regular cars. I think they say it takes an electric car about 8 years before it benefits the earth at all over a regular car. So it's not like an electric car that you drive for 10 years is really going to save the planet. It's going to maybe be marginally better for those last 2 years before the battery dies. Then it goes into a landfill and poisons the earth. I think we'll get it to a point where batteries might last 50 years and in that situation then of course I think it's a lot better. I know it sounds ironic but if you're replacing batteries and throwing them in landfills every 10 years that would be brutal the more electric cars we have for the Earth. Whereas 50 years maybe by then we have a way to recycle these things and it wouldn't be so wasteful because that car could be driven by several people or even multiple generations of the same family could pass the car down. Instead of tearing out the battery and putting a new one in. Just my thoughts

What he meant is that people in China or third world countries don't care about climate change as much as them. Climate change is a global issue not something one country can solve alone.
