It's sad to me that she finds this album so embarrassing and mostly doesn't acknowledge it. It certainly is rougher than her later stuff, but in some ways that's a good thing I think. It communicates a sort of raw visceral emotion that I think is very real and powerful in its own way.

We move like smoke through the room. Buried down. Don't make a sound. Your fingertips shutting your mouth. Enemies are waiting at our door. They have not forgotten what we've done to them the night before. Our ghosts follow every step we move. They know we won't make it till the evening. They sing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" The sky is red. My bones are aching. My wounds are bleeding. My knees are kneeling. Please Lord, please Lord, deliver us. "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead?" And they're falling back down. Lay my grave with me my love. We'll die side by side, hand in hand. And our ghosts follow us in the winter. And the winter is taking us down. And the wind is blowing snow in our. bodies. She's opening the woodwork; amd she's sealing us inside, to remain there as a secret, for some other lifetime. And she's opening the woodwork of urn; She's sealing us inside. I don't care, just take my hand. Oh, just take my hand and die with me, my love. ♡

@@getthoseskills4451It’s a little different, but you might like Ethel Cain. She’s heavily inspired by Chelsea--and King Woman opened for her recently. Her album Preacher’s Daughter is an experience. (Don’t get put off by “American Teenager” though. It’s so different than the rest of the album.)

I've been a fan of her's since Feral Love and I have he album before that one (and everything after), but I've never heard some of her more early, formative music. She's come such a long way since this song, but it's still very good. Her voice changed (I mean she's found her own voice) and her songwriting changed to the point she became something completely unique. She's like a blues singer for 2020 and beyond.

Ok guys, I've been listenig this song for some while and i think I've got the lyrics. There are some gaps, probably some wrong words, but I think most of it is good. Enjoy! And correct everything you think I got wrong. You move like smoke through the room buried down, don't make a sound, your fingertips set in your mouth. Enemies are waiting at our door, they have not forgotten what we've done to them the night before. Our ghosts follow every step we move, they know we won't make it till the evening. They sing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead in you?" Singing "Are we dead?" The sky is red My bones are aching My wounds are bleeding My knees are kneeling Please love x2 Deliver us "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead in you?" x2 Singing "Are we dead?" Singing "Are we dead and falling down?" Lay in my grave with me my love. We'll die side by side, hand in hand. And our ghosts follow us in the winter, and the winter is taking us down. And the wind is playing with snow on our bodies. She's opening the woodwork and she's sealing us inside, to remain there as a secret for some another lifetime. And she's opening the woodwork of urne, she's sealing us inside. I don't care just take my hand oh, just take my hand and die with me my love.
