THANK YOU for this! I was soooo frustrated trying to get this set up using another video & even their template download & it STILL didn't work like theirs did on the video. YOUR explanation was much more clear AND included things they never even mentioned. New subscriber now!

Thank you so much. I spent 3 hours trying to get my head around the routing for my Drumvolution in Kontakt- then I found this tutorial. Now subscribed. I like your clear style

Nice! Thanks for drilling down to all the menu options and showing us how it's done. Do you think dragging the items into a single folder caused the tracks to play as if they were all armed? There is a huge learning curve using Kontakt, Native, T-Racks etc... but you know what they say if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

It could be... Most times they default to going out one track so if you don't separate them they will all play at the same time... Glad you got something out of the video...😀🙏🏾

thx very helpful but id love to know who on kontakt dev team thought removing outputs view from the default view was a good idea

This video is great thanks so much, I've followed it exactly (however when I load Kontakt 8 player there was no option for 'Build Routing Configuration') and I am also getting no sound. When I play in the midi using different channels, I can see in both the Kontakt player outputs and the instruments samples that the correct samples are being triggered and routed correctly, but no audio is being sent anywhere I can hear it. Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks for watching... If you double click Kontakt a white box should appear around it.. then you can build the routing... Its in the video as well.. I would say rewatch it and make sure you didn't miss anything.. let me know if you have questions...😀🙏🏾

This is just setting up the vst in the DAW the controller doesn't matter... 😀🙏🏾

Damn, there is got to be an easier way to use Kontakt in reaper. Thanks for the tut tho because I wouldn't figure it out by myself.
@learningreaper2 ай бұрын
Yea it's pretty tricky but you only have to set it up once then you can just save it as a template and your good to go .. thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾

@@learningreaper Thank you for sharing your knowledge bro. It took me sometime, but I got it down. 👍

I just started using Reaper and this is great because it solves the problem of having Kontakt loaded per instrument track (like in Reason). But, I've noticed a problem. I cannot setup FX sends on the Kontakt tracks. For some reason, a Kontakt instrument track will only output through the Kontakt parent [Player] track. If I add a send to a reverb or delay, the instrument goes dark. To be precise, say I have your setup like in this video and I want to send Kontakt instrument #2 to a reverb track within Reaper's MCP. When I route the send like I would any other track, that Kontakt track goes silent. It looks as if the individual Kontakt tracks in MCP only permit sending to the Player and nothing else. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the loopback-that the instrument track isn't actually outputting as audio, that Kontakt is looped into itself for playback. Is there a way to get around this?
@learningreaper2 ай бұрын
You have to do your sends after the kontakt player if you do it before you it will knock out the feed to kontakt I hope that makes sense but that's the work around unfortunately if you want sends...😀🙏🏾
@justintyree27672 ай бұрын
@@learningreaper Unless I'm misunderstanding you, my sends are indeed after the player. The Kontakt individual instrument tracks in the MCP are all sending to the player, and any additional sends I want to add AFTER that tend to silence the instrument track completely. I want to use send FX on my Kontakt instruments, not insert FX (and not the limited FX on the Kontakt instrument itself). But it doesn't seem to matter because despite the order in which I create the sends, the Kontakt Player is always the first in the list. Maybe this is an opportunity for a new tutorial because I'm sure this affects a lot of people.

Is it me, or is Kontact convoluted?
@learningreaper2 ай бұрын
Kontakt is a great tool... Maybe a little convoluted but many people use it to make some really good music..😀🙏🏾
@TonyHookedonVanlife13 күн бұрын
Or is it Reaper that's convoluted? I'm a total n00b to DAWs, I have no clue... Reaper just seems to have sooooooooooo much options/controls, it's like left-ckick & get a hundred options(and THEIR options), then right-click & get a hundred more! No wonder I'm confused...

When you load kontakt by itself does it work .. ? Did you make sure the project settings were changed to make sure the audio will work?
@gregallen53534 ай бұрын
none of that works for me lol. Kontact 8 doesnt even show up, just kontact and kontact 7. what ama i missing?
@learningreaper4 ай бұрын
Did you install it in native access? If not start there if you have open it in standalone then rescan plugins in Reaper and it should be there ... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾
