I think I would have preferred a Jim Abbott card, a Frankie Rodriguez card or a Bryan Harvey card over a Weaver card for this set. It's time to start suggesting new guys to SDS for next year. Why is there no Ichiro card? Nomo? Ubaldo Jimenez no-hitter card? J.T. Snow? Darin Erstad? I also think it would be hilarious to see a Coaches' series filled with Joe Torre, Bud Black, Mike Scioscia, Dusty Baker, Walt Weiss, Tony LaRussa, Bill Russell, Rico Baldelli...yes, even Tommy Lasorda could be in it...even if he would probably be just a common pitcher. They could release the Coaches' series early with the first packs of the year, then send out a better version around "Field of Dreams" with cards based on each coach's best year as a player. Some of those Hall-of-Famers who dabbled in managing later in their lives could be viable end-game cards. And for goodness sake, bring back Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, and Joe DiMaggio. They also need to stop treating knuckleballers the same way they treat PED users and other cheaters in the game. Mickey Jannis is still in the game, why not add a Candiotti, a Hough, an R.A. Dickey, a Wakefield, and all of the other Knuckleheads who kept guys honest. If people are going to cry about it, make it an end of the year program, so people only have to deal with the majority of them toward the end of the season. People who cry about knuckleballers, side-armers, and guys with outlier are just going to keep crying until our pitchers are only throwing change-ups.
