Thank you very much for both your demonstrations and explanations; this sounds pretty cool! I wonder in which way the second mode, Yèkatit, is related to the "Antchi Hoye"-scale; I'd say, these are the same scales, just starting from different tones, but maybe that's a very "Western" perspective ... How would Mulatu Astatke explain the relationship?

Berry Harris was not always right, especially when he said nobody needs the church modes really admire him still for his diminished 6th scale... which ironically can also be called a mode.
