My parents love this song. Now, my dad's in hospital, dying of stroke. We play Kool & the Gang at his bedside. When this song comes on it brings a whole other meaning to "cherish." My parents' just had their 43rd anniversary. Their love is eternal, but my dear father's time on earth is coming to an end. And so may we all cherish the time we have on earth with our loved ones. My father was full of undeniable love for my mother and siblings. God bless my father as he's about to enter God's kingdom of heaven. I'm going to miss you terribly. Christmas 1985, I was thirteen years old. My grandmother bought me this little stereo with dual cassette decks for Christmas, so naturally I set out to start recording songs off the radio. This was the first song I recorded. Grandma died three weeks later. I don't have the tape or the stereo anymore, but I remember this song, which makes me remember her.
