Oh, this is so fun, and it fits your signature style perfectly! Indeed, it's a perfect selection for June, and it really gets me in a summer mood. 😎 This remix beautifully dances along the line between euphoric and lively, and I'm amazed at how you've managed to make it sound both chill and high-energy simultaneously. It's spacious and breezy, with the ambient synths, atmospheric effects, and tactful use of reverb and delay; yet it's equally vibrant with plucky leads, syncopated supporting parts, and a sick, sick bass that just adds so much flair and rhythmic drive. Even on the very limited speakers that I'm listening on, I can hear the bass cut through the mix, and I can only imagine what it sounds like with robust headphones - I'm looking forward to that! I'm particularly fond of the House-y bass rhythms and articulations in the segments at 0:56 and 2:24 - it just sounds too good! Also, the particular piano you're using here has a decidedly tropical feel, and almost a bit of a honky-tonk sound, which I love. It's always nice to hear piano being used as a feature instrument in these kinds of pieces, and you've utilized it superbly here as a lead, and with highly complementary supporting instruments. There are some really creative instrument choices, too, like the synth(s) used in the break at 1:28, which has/have both wind and reed qualities - I haven't heard anything quite like it, to be honest! Also, I _love_ the pitch bending you've applied to the harmony instruments, particularly in the segment starting at around 1:03. There are so many interesting details to be found throughout, much in the way that Mario Kart courses themselves have an abundance of features that warrant dozens upon dozens of playthroughs. Your music has such high replayability, it's truly remarkable! And I have to mention the percussive elements here - absolutely stellar! The buildups here are among some of my favorites that you've made, and all the pattern-breakers you utilize keep things sounding fresh and interesting. Your buildups and drops are anything but formulaic, and I know I keep saying this, but the your transitional work is among the best of any remixer I've heard. I really love the creative use of SFX here, too, with various iconic sound effects, like the "PEEEewww!" of a Shell being fired, or the expertly-placed Lap 2 sound at the midpoint of the race, ...er, song. 😁 Unfortunately, I'm just on my lunch break commenting here, so this one'll have to be a bit on the "short" side, but I again want to express what an absolute delight this was to listen to. Haha, the “short” side, eh?? 😉 Instrument selection is crucial for a tropical banger such as this one; and surprisingly it’s relatively easy to combine electronic instruments alongside signature beach sounds like steel drums, flutes, and acoustic guitars! And that’s the best part of my mixing process, is i make sure to listen to all of my masters on various speakers to make sure my remixes are clear through all listening perspectives! Oooh yes I agree, the honky-tonk pianos are wonderful, and I don’t hear those as “leads” very often! I figured a piano would fit the drop intro, because the song already has that smooth feel to it! I actually upgraded my sound library last month from what felt like a year of using the same standard synths, so now i can get, if you can believe it, _even more_ creative with my sound design! I love your comment about my music having “replay value” - that’s literally what I strive for and an honor to hear you say that! I’ve said this probably a thousand times already but I’m so glad to hear that my music has a style - and the way you put it as “formulaic” sounded luxurious to me haha 😆 As always, can’t appreciate you more for your in-depth comments & dedication to listening to every minor detail! Ah, this remix is like a breath of fresh air! I love chill EDM as much as the higher energy styles, and this is beautifully done!! It's a work of art! The steel drum lead and acoustic guitar combined with the deep house bass sound gorgeous. Every choice of instrument and musical section was spot on. This is one of your cleanest remixes yet!
