Same for Japan, it's conditioning. From early on you learn that this is it; go to school for 40+hrs a week, be better than the rest, work till you break and eventually get a wife and children, so that the cycle continues, that's your purpose. Another exam you might enjoy taking a look at is Austria’s MedAT, the entrance exam for med school. What sets it apart is that besides the knowledge section (physics, maths, biology, chemistry) it’s basically an intelligence and memory test with shapes, anagrams and number sequences, which haven’t really featured in the exams you’ve looked at so far :)

In that exam there exist several patterns, hence techniques and shortcuts. If you get used to it, you will get high grade very easily. Once you get used to its pattern, it is not that tough exam

Hi Tibees, here's a video suggestion. Make one about Brazil's toughest high school exams: ITA and IME (air force and army's technological institutes), they are very hard, way harder than "Brazil's SAT" (ENEM).

Both have two phases (idk if thats the right word) ITA: 5 hours with 70 questions, with 5 options per question: 15 Physics, 15 Portuguese, 10 english (which does not count on your end score, it is just eliminatory), 15 maths, 15 chem. You have to make at least 6 questions in each (4 in english) and more than other candidates in order to go to the 2nd phase. The second phase is taken in two days. First day is made of 10 essay physics questions (no correct alternative) and an essay in portuguese. 4 hours Second day is made of 20 essay questions, 10 maths and 10 chem. 4 hours as well. IME is similar, but it does not have portuguese nor english in the first phase, they are taken in the second phase, which lasts 4 days, 4 hours per day, 10 questions each day(1day of math, 1 of physics, 1 of chem, 1 of portuguese and english, with an essay).

The reason for making it so tough is bcos we have only limited quality seats (at least in India) and enormous amount of candidates. For eg when I gave IIT-Jee , there were 600k candidates , for 7k seats and that's just for engg stream.

As a freshman in Korea, I still don't understand what these hardcore exams were for. It seems to me that university studies require more of a broad range of knowledge yet deep understandings. What I had to study for that exam, however, was exact opposite. Narrow range yet shallow understandings. Now I'm concerned I cannot catch up univ. courses.

Korean SAT’s math problems are really good. And when i say really i mean REALLY REALLY good. It’s doesn’t require an education or knowledge above the things you learn in high school - of course in Korea. But some questions are very difficult which makes you think for quite a long time(sometimes more than 30 mins for one or two questions). About 20-30 professors, teachers and experts working to make those questions makes about 15-20 difficult (not the ones in the front) questions for 4 weeks!!!

The first one (Q15) was actually easier than the second one (Q30) shown. Drawing the graphs helps a lot. The first one also isn't too hard but the math is a little messier and more tedious.

Guess, I'm just not good at that. Canada has provincials but its spread out throughout the week for the 5 subjects. Doing it in one day is just crazy because you need different skills for each exam and it takes time for your brain to reconfigure. Not to mention the lack of time to revise for each subject.

since some of you guys seem confused that the test doesnt look that hard : the exam itself is not NOTORIOUSLY hard i admit, but the problem is to go to top universities. only the 4%(or less than 11%, depending what university you consider as 'top') goes to the prestigious unis and the rest(about the other 89%) either applies to "not-so-good" schools or retake the test the next year. what university you've graduated in is really important here, just like any other asian countries tbh, and it's basically your social status and everything...that's why people try so hard to get in the top 11%. so i'd rather say the exam system is messed up rather than the exam difficulty itself.

I may be wrong here but I believe your two curves (the natural log and exponential) actually DO intersect. It's just that they are also "mutually tangent" at that point. Hence, you are able to solve your intersection equation and your tangents equation simultaneously. Because both are simultaneously true :)

The reading was very hard. The length of the passage was shorter than the previous year, however this did not mean the decline of difficulty, it meant the cram explanation, which means it required deduction even more. especially the passage which explained about legal nature of reservation is considered as the hardest law passage that was ever made at CSAT. However this CSAT became completely forgotten because of the next year's CSAT, which was the hardest ever.

1st qn is easy. Since OA and AB are perpendicular, circumcenter of Triangle OAB is midpoint of OB, that is (2,0) and circumradius is 2. Now A is on st line Y=root 3 so distance between (2,0) and A is 2. Solve and you will get A to be (1, root 3) or (3, root 3). Putting those coordinates back in y=a^x, you will get a= root 3 or 3^1/6. So, product of all such a is 3^2/3. Easy one! I am Indian, not Korean btw.

Idol competition is very very tight also, in 10 years there were over 400 groups (and multiple that with so many trainees who never got debuted) and each year only a handful of team survive. the difference is that, Idol has high risk high reward (top groups get very high reward), while the common path of just study - exam - uni - job has less risk - medium expected reward.

I've watched various kdramas and was curious about how difficult the tests are. Being an Indian who took jee advanced almost a decade ago, the questions aren't even that difficult. But I guess the competition makes it tough. Like in India, jee adv is the most difficult exam but cracking upsc is way more difficult due to less number of seats.

At suneung, math section problem number30 is notorious by it’s hardness. Actually, that 2020version suneung’s math #30 was quite easy, compare to other year’s suneung. Try 2017 and 2018 suneung math section’s #30 It’s extremely hard.

Looking at the csat makes me feel dumb. Please take a look into three of the hardest exams here in Brazil: IME - Instituto Militar de Engenharia (Military Institute of Engineering), ITA - Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (Aeronautics Institute of Technology), and Fuvest exam, prerequisite to study in any of the courses available in the University of São Paulo (USP). Grades may vary, but usually those who want Med School in USP need to score at least 85% in all exams - first exam (multiple choice) and second/third exams (writing essays in portuguese and other subjects, which may vary depending on the course you want to enroll - physics + chemistry + biology for Med School, physics + chemistry + math for Engineering School, and History + Geography + Math for Law School).

damn. definitely really hard. at least it's multiple choice on many questions though. for example the first question where they are supposed to be perpendicular you can just try worst case (of course short time. but if it's one of the harder problems you should be able to get a few minutes at another place). also worst case you can just guess which at least has some chance you get it right lmao. the last question would've killed me tho

Also, the Q30 isn't meant to be solved within 4~5 minutes. (Although there are some insane people who manage to do that) A good time would be within 8 to 10 minutes. You need to save time from easier questions like Q15, which should be solved within 2 minutes maximum, if you're going for the full score.

As a Pole, I would love to have multiple choice questions in our maturity exams (final high school exams that determine your uni admission). A large part of the questions are open ones, where you have to write a complex answer. Biology, history and Polish exams are especially open to interpretation and the keys to them can be very controversial, absurd and unfair

I’m Korean and I can tell you that the problem you solved in this video is not meant to be solved within three or four minutes, It’s usually recommended you leave around 30 minutes for that problem alone, as it is the hardest question in that test.

hey just one thing which i would like to point out is, when solving the maths question u need to assume that the curves intersect at a specific unique point right? rather than just equating them... like yeah it would be kinda same but i think assuming a unique point is more ethically correct

Please review Iran university entrance exam. It’s called konkur and It’s pretty hard. It has 7 topics , near 300 questions and covers: math , chemistry, physics , geometry, persian grammar , english , arabic , religion. It causes a lot of sucide and depression among Iranian teens.

In Armenia the exam isn't that though. It's similar to russian ege. The most prestigious university is the ysu , mergelyans university, but the exam for get in isn't that difficult. I finished the faculty of nuclear physics:)

Honestly I feel so bad for these students and just Humanity in general that we boil down people to exams and test scores in the name of elitism and The Business of higher education. If we really want to advance as a society we should just admit everybody. Many countries already do this and the only reason they haven't exams is to uphold the elitism of those top universities because what makes them a top university of them branding and marketing. The students who go there are inherently ornately smarter they just get better on a test. Some people are good test-takers. Someone's intelligence or potential cannot be boiled down to a test score. If you want true equity and equality then admit everyone and nationalize education because not everyone even starts off on an even playing field with standardized tests like that. Have a higher education system that's true about educating your citizens and making them productive and effective members of whatever feel or discipline they want to go into. Not making them a Bastion of competition which is detrimental to the act of learning

팩트) 이렇게 공부해도 도움될건 없다 주입식 공부는 경제 발전에 한계가 있는데 오히려 더 퇴화시키는데 ㅋㅋ 이리공부해도 베트남에서도 따는 수학쪽상은 못따는게 현실

you should react to ITA, brazil's toughest exam. people in average pass 3-4 years to be prepared for this exam and is considered one of the toughest in the world
