That really brings back the memories. I was stationed at Camp Rice/Garry Owen from March of 1974 to May of 1975. I was 17 on arrival and turned 18 there. I served as an 11 Delta Reconnaissance Scout Specialist for C troop 4th sqdn 7th US Cavalry, I haven't seen these images for years - lost all my photos in a fire. Thanks for uploading!

Doug Voss and I, both veterans of the Korean DMZ with multiple tours between the 2 of us, put this video together showcasing just a few of the incidents that happened on the DMZ. The US Army gave up it's last sector on the DMZ in Oct 1991, 37 plus years after the Armistice was signed defending the ROK! We are working on a 2nd video already. For those that served there, know there has been very little recognition for their unselfish and dedication to their duty to defend the ROK! The video is to present a notice with a small collection of some of the incidents. Many of the incidents are lost in the annals of history, but known to those of us that served there! Please watch and share, so others can learn and hopefully understand!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3y7XqCaq7lqgMk

Served 60-63 with monitoring stations in hills just south of DMZ. Got a lot of infiltration reports including one grenade attack on a DMZ position. Read many of the reports on NKns caught by ROK and they were not pretty. Not many survived interrogation with a lot of torturing. More attacks then than in Vietnam.

Jan 1990 thru May 1991 RC 4 Sunyu-Ri 5/5 AAA (air Attack Artillery according to one Cpt Vincent Tripp) 16S MANPADS crewmember. Monthly drills and running 4 miles north towards Warrior Base. 90-day rotations on DMZ supporting our infantry brothers with Air Defense. I think we at RC 4 had the only Bowling Alley for 35 miles . . .lol . . . crazy that guys in the northern camps would come to our facility to have fun . . . 8 miles from the DMZ . . .lol! We hated it, but learned a heck of a lot - tuff tour - made a lot of good friends and had some bitter-sweet times! Look forward to going back to visit someday with my family. From Google Earth, looks like RC 4 and Camp Pelham are no longer there . . .??

My ETS was 17 Aug 91. I did two rotations on the DMZ. First was February through April 1990 with 2/503rd. Second was February through April 1991 with 1/503. It seems that my unit was one of the last 2ID units to have a DMZ mission. I didn't know that they turned over GPs Collier and Ouelette over to the ROKs that soon after I left. WOW.

I arrive to C/5/20 in June 1991 (PV- I owe you one Scheber). They were a few weeks into their rotation. My PLT was on Oullette Aug 91' and turned it over to a ROK PLT beginning of Sep 91'.

5-20 had to come off the Z a month early due to Bradley Net training. By October 1991, we turned the whole mission over to the ROKs....
