The more I watch these vlogs, the more I miss my Korean coworker who I look up to like a mother (I used to call her my “mama sang”😊). She taught me a lot and shared with me her Korean cuisine and culture. She and I worked well as a team. We complement each other. When she retired I was bawling for days. After she retired, we kept in touch through phone calls. I’m just sad today when I learned that her husband passed away. They used to hike the Hollywood hills or LA river, play golf and travel together. Now, she’s by herself but goes to babysit her grandkids twice a week and does ballroom dancing once a week. I truly miss her whenever I see this family together.

I came from a province in Bicol and after high school immigrated to The USA, I live in one of the biggest cities now, and its not as amazing as people see it in the movies. You don't even know who your neighbor is here, even if you live in the same house or apartment complex, you barely talk to them. Everyone is stressed about so many things and a lot of people are depressed especially in winter time. It's been 15 years now and I still dream of my life in the province. I still can't find the same happiness I had living a simple life, vs now. I can buy anything I want but it doesnt make me feel complete.
