I bet they would find the mystery of Walter Collins really interesting. In 1928, a 9-year-old boy named Walter Collins went missing in Los Angeles. His mother reported him missing and the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) began their extensive search to bring him back home. The case received nationwide news coverage, so the LAPD had a lot of pressure to close the case and give the mother and son a happy ending. 5 months after Walter went missing, a boy from out of state claimed he was Walter Collins. The mother paid for his train ticket to LA, and the LAPD set up a reunion for the mother and son, with a lot of press there ready to take photos of the happy family finally together again. But...when the boy stepped off the train, the mother knew right away that he wasn't her son. The police captain refused to take responsibility by promising her to keep up the search for her son. Instead, he told her to "try out" the new boy (what is he, a new pair of shoes??) and take him home. The mother could only do so for a few weeks until she brought the boy back into the police station and showed evidence of her son's dental records, proving that the boy they handed off to her was not her son. The police captain called her "heartless", and after she proved to be very determined that the LAPD do their job and find her son, she was admitted into a psychiatric hospital for over 2 weeks. During this time, the boy admitted he was not Walter, and was just pretending so he could get a free trip to LA (he was a runaway). Even after this confession, the police let the mother of Walter remain at the psychiatric hospital for 10 days. She sued the LAPD, won the case, but never received any money out of it. Later, it was discovered that her son was the victim of a mother and son serial killer duo, who raped and murdered young boys on their farm (check out the Wineville Chicken Coop murders for more info on them). She didn't believe that her son was dead, even though the serial killers confessed, and until the day she died, she never gave up hope that she would find her son again. It's so dang sad. This is technically not an unsolved mystery, but the whole story is so bizarre and frustrating that it's worth knowing about. There's an incredible movie about this story called The Changeling (starring Angelina Jolie as Walter's mother).

What’s weird is no one seems to be aware of the serial killers or mass murders from their area they only hear about the really famous ones where like movies and documentaries were made. There are like old ones in Japan like the frog boys and then newer ones, as well as mass killers like the guy who killed like dozens of people in Japan at a manga studio a few years ago. You’d think those stories would be more known. Or in Britain with the doctor who killed like a ton of people. Few people seem to know about them which gives a probably worrisome impression that you can just avoid a certain area and you’ll be out of their way which they can be everywhere unfortunately.

More details about the DB Cooper case: • The attendant said that he looked nervous as if he’d never did anything like this before. It is very possible that he was a law abiding citizen up until that point. • There was an unidentified and unexplained flair the same night this took place. This could mean that Cooper is not working alone. It could also mean that Cooper is a hostage and in danger himself. Take this how you will :) Facts based on interviews of the detectives who worked on this case in a documentary series on Netflix.

According to me, in search of d.b. cooper, he might have died when trying to land the parachute and someone must have been there at the time when the body collapsed to the ground. Since the highjacker was carrying money, the passerby must have felt greediness and took the money and hid his body. The police will never now the passerby since he wasn't evolved in the process of highjacking or something for the person to be searched. (Maybe I should stop seeing soo many stories)😂
