Yea idk y the koreans are addicted to creating manhwa that potrays bullying and alll the characters are handsome and beautiful and similar in look... I dont even find any expressions and character development much in there work... THIS IS MY OPINION can be different for others
@argon3892 жыл бұрын
I disagree with the expressions and charcter development compliant. But I would say that manwha has been being produced at a slow rate throughout its time relative to manga. So when you think of manwhas that have those expressions and character developments you can't list of that many because the amount of manwha isn't that large. But in manga there are a lot of examples because there's a larger pool to pull from. For the similar in look comment I would say when an artist is making characters they tend to have the same art style throughout the process so yeah but also manga tends to be more fictitious than manwha so they go more wacky with the charcter designs but like manwha have the same art style. For the bullying and all the characters looking handsame point I would say these are just elements that are used a lot and the same point could be made to manga like why do they always have a lot of isekai stories. These are just common tropes.

I agree, and the characters actually look Korean. Even when they have blonde hair, like Sangwoo, you can tell by the attention to facial details that he's still Asian. So it's assumed that his hair is simply dyed blonde. Compare this to how Japanese people draw Asians, and they make the eyes ridiculously big, as Koreans keep the eyes smaller, usually. The artstyles feel very different.

Webtoons can be accepted as a new form, but manga has a far different depth of history, and it is too arrogant to say that it has surpassed it. Webtoons have the advantage of being easy to read because they are on smartphones, but because they are easy to read, they are mainly descriptive and have little dialogue, which makes it difficult to feel the depth of the story and the emotions of the characters.Even if a work becomes popular temporarily, it is unlikely to produce works that will be passed down to future generations as manga have been.
@silent_u Жыл бұрын
Manga prioritizes storytelling and work efficiency over color. Color is added when manga is animated. The relationship between manga and anime is very great. And the character designs are excellent and unique, making them well-suited for merchandising. On the other hand, manhwa's content is shallow and repetitive, resulting in quick forgetfulness. It is like junk food. The character designs are all similar and not catchy. Consequently, creating a masterpiece that remains beloved for many years would be very difficult for manhwa.

Personally i dont mind manwha though it seems to sacrifice story for "art", in some i have seen they will have just one or two large frames per page thus making one volume a single conversation where as manga tends to balance things out better. Abit annoyed by the jab at Isekai when most manwha fantasy titles are inherently Isekai while also have a 50% chance of being a korean version of an isekai manga that came out the year before. Also it did not surprise me when stated they asset flip images cause I'll be honest it seems all manwha share the exact same art style in my pov where as manga varies heavily in terms not only the artist but the theme, story, character and their context: example being one punch man can switch at a whim from looking poorly drawn to chibi then Hyper realistic. Not knocking on Manwha some are good, though there are alot of titles that are not.

The Reason i prefer Manga over Manhwa is because Manhwa is that most of the stories are Repetitive there is always this weak protagonist who looks scrawny and gets bullied and becomes stronger or there is always this guy who gets reincarnated in another world and is already op like most isekai manga Ln and anime's out there and most character's always looks handsome and beautiful and most of the side villains this ugly fat dude or this ugly gorilla dude and the protagonist will always be this handsome always saves the day dude and the villains are always like this handsome edgy dude that kinda gives that sasuke vibe and most Manhwa's are not unique and not just the story but the characters and the art too not gonna lie the art is great but the art is not unique its not the same the only manhwa art i find unique is The Boxer and in Manhwa Characters are very badly developed and like most of the development goes to the main character while there are some manhwa that try to avoid this such as Study Group which one of my favorite manhwa's by the way and most manhwa's story is very mid it's not unexpected and like most of the time you can probably what's gonna happen on the next page or the next chapters especially if you read many manhwa's Manga on the other hand Still does has some these flaws But in terms of Storytelling Characters and Development Manga always takes The Spot Manga art also starts to change over the course of time and not staying with the generic anime style art my most favorite art style in Manga is Berserk Vagabond and Jojo and The Crazy thing is Manga doesn't need Color to look good but if you put color in it especially if it's digital Manga will look 100x better than most Manhwa's if you don't believe then take a look at it online it's because of the detailing that makes them look good that make them feel more alive and not just Picture's That are drawn on each panel. There are also some Manga That doesn't work when it has color example of this is Berserk And Vagabond Berserk Always has this dark aura in it and because of that when you put color in it looking at it doesn't feel quite right that's why for me it doesn't work. Vagabond always has this Edo Period feeling that's because the story takes place in The Edo Period that's Vagabond with no Color works more becuz it keeps that feeling though im not saying that these manga's look bad when they have color it just takes away something important from them probably one of the reasons why even today Berserk still doesn't have a proper Anime adaptation

Manga made in Korea and China should not be called manhwa or manhua. Because the art style of those characters is almost the same as in Japan. Especially how to write those eyes, manpu(漫符), how to express scenes, and story composition. They should be called Korean manga, Chinese manga. In addition, color manga and vertical reading manga have been widely used in Japan for more than 10 years.

I don’t know about any of y’all, but my favorite current manhwa is World’s Apocalypse Online! I’m concurrently reading it along with the online novel series, and holy shit it is good. It’s a bit hard to watch the manhwa go through some writing style changes, like how we see how the main character died, before he goes back in time to stop the apocalypses, even though in the book we learn more as time passes about his past as he lives through it. Not to mention that his death is the most dramatic part of his back story that only reaches full impact once you’ve actually bonded with the character. So yeah, not a fan of that choice. In the book, the death scene felt almost magical for reasons I won’t spoil, but in the manhwa, it’s kinda shoved in there. I would recommend you read the book in my opinion, because I think leaving it up to the imagination in the first place is better, but I think that reading both is also a good idea.

Is there a way if you can tell if the comic you’re making is more western manga or Manhwa? Back in the day my comic was pretty much just me working on it doing the line art the coloring the word bubbles, the stories and the character designs. But when I submitted my finished comic to my semi mentor Ben Dunn, which him and his brother founded Antarctic press, he said that my art style needed some more work but I was definitely in the right direction and he loved my story. So that prompted me to get an artist to do the line art and I do the rest like designing the characters doing the story plots, and design the page layouts. I ended up getting this really awesome artist from Thailand named Panu Leeluesai, which from what I know he has been working in the manga industry for at least 10 years definitely more than that. But with my comic I actually color it and of course do the word bubbles do the character designs and page mockups. My comic style I considered to be more western manga because it’s still in the page format but I color it. So the only difference that I have between my “western manga” style to the more Korean Manhwa is how it’s formatted. As you said the Korean style comics are formatted to be more like Websoon’s scrolling format with one panel over the other going downwards. But my comic is formatted more like a traditional western comic by pages and going left to right. So is coloring the pages making it more of a Manhwa style comic or can I still consider it “western manga“?

The stories are kept simple and generic in order to be as easy as possible to read so that the reader can read 20 at a time while not paying attention and still understand whats going on. It also makes them easy to get into; one glance at the title and you can tell whether or not you will like the isekai. Whereas with a high effort manga, getting lost in a complicated plot, or not being as emotionally invested as the author intends can ruin the experience, and so requires a matching amount of attention from the reader. The cheap, mass produced quality of isekai give it some good traits as well.

Hi, I would like to know a few things; Firstly, which sect between the Manhwa industry and the Manga industry are more accommodating to foreigners and their work?( I'm an African ). Secondly, how do you chose the location of your story based on a place you have never been to and work it? Lastly, Based on your experience, are light novels more or less appealing to the fan base?

Does anyone know if I should read the solo leveling light novel or manhwa first? I’d really like to see what it’s all about but it’s very u clear what most people enjoy
@willywallyb23792 жыл бұрын
I've read both, there's not really much of a difference in my opinion but the story has a lot of characters, so I personally would reccomed comics first since they are a lot more easy to process, while solo leveling LNs are slightly more detailed in areas. So it's better for later context. Both are super fun to read though!

I read the manhwa first. It was the first material that i decided to try reading its other material as well. It was that good FOR ME. Despite already getting the gist of the story, the novel was interesting as well. Though the writing style was a bit of … i very much still enjoyed it. Lots of scenes were not covered by the manhwa sooo more stuff to discover.

From what I observed Most korean mc's have a bad personality, edgy a-holes who picks fights everywhere they go. Also why is bullying so prevalent on those comics, I'm scared to go to korea because of the juvenile delinquints portrayed on those highschool manhuas. So I'm more afraid than angry with how cruel it got so I'll cross korea of my travel-list While the japanese one are generic goody two-shoes with no backbone While the Chinese novel's, seriously almost everyone is on a powertrip that I can't even understand the story because I got lost with how they emphasize their moves and techniques than the plot like you literally could write a wholeass chapter for that one attack move like the heavenly demon crushing palm or something Oh and don't forget the iconic your courting death! Line everubody knows about.😂 But.. Doesn't mean I hate all of them, I still watch them regardless of their flaws, after all that what's make those mc's human. Also, I just hope they'll either they'll do it moderation or back it up with a good story Overall, I have a love and hate relationship with some of them, they're also most that I watch with guilty-pleasure. And I'm sorry of I sound like a jerk for only mentioning the flaws. Of course it has it's perfect moments. Regardless of the flaws I mentioned, I still love it.

Hello Brandon! I am from India and I am looking for tips on how to get started as an author. I have been working on my story but it would mean nothing if it can't reach the audience. So could you give me a bit of guidance there...??

read tower of god if u like one piece u will like this too let me tell u this has a better world building than one piece unlike other show which have common classes like swordsmen , mage and healer tog has different battle class like fishermen, light bearer, spear bearer, scout and wave controller dose have its own power system shinshu which is unique on its own even different weapons like a fuckin fishing rod and a needle instead of a sword or katana and even inventories are used as a weapon and many more tog has a different setting it is a modern like ours but its more advance there are different races and each floor is like its own new world and from your manga list u must be a shonen fan i guess u watched the anime on the list u mention because all of them have gotten an adaptation and no way u read demon slayer before its anime came out it was on the verge of cancellation well it is a mid manga so ufotable saved it but u should read seinen too some like beserk ( highest rated manga on mal), vagabond , vinland saga ( u can watch the anime too it has 2 seasons each 24 ep), tokyo ghoul ( anime and manga are different anime followed a original path which made it worse), 20th century boys and monster( monster has an anime but its a bit long 74 ep but its all covered up it will be a slow pace since it covers every single thing from the manga) and finally chainsaw man

Manhwa, all the way. It started with Anime, branched into mangas, and then found manhwas.
