I used to make this on the stovetop and simmer it for days to get a real milky broth. I just bought an instant pot and would love to use it. Is there a way to make the broth more rich and milky using the instant pot? Do you think cooking it longer would work?
@ChristysChannel6 жыл бұрын
My mom has an IP and she would set the bones in low pressure for almost a day and a half. Takes forever but if you have the time and patience, go for it! She buys the bag of bones and throws that in the IP to make the broth but mid way she would add in the meat and finish cooking it all together.

I’m very interested in doing this in the instant pot as this does take ALL day on the stovetop. But does your broth get milky overnight because it looks clear and not milky at the end of your video.
@ChristysChannel6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it did get milky the next day after being cooled down in the fridge.

After putting it in the fridge,taking out the excess oil that hardened off the top layer and reheating it (for how long?) Will I get the milky white bone broth like u show at the end of your video??? Please let me know... really want to do this. But it seems the traditional way is better(cooking it hours on the stove). I just got an instant pot btw O.o
@ChristysChannel5 жыл бұрын
Cooking it using the IP is great if you don’t want to watch the stove and be stuck at home all day. But you’re right. Anything cooked the traditional stove top method way will create deeper flavors. After you take the hardened fat off the soup, you’ll still end up with the milky broth.

@@ChristysChannel before u put it in the fridge do u place the whole thing in the fridge or do u take the radish out?

I’ve seen other people add garlic and green onion to the broth with the radish. Would you recommend that in the instant pot? I do like your method and would like to try but I was thinking the garlic and green onion would be a great addition to.
@ChristysChannel7 жыл бұрын
Definitely add the garlic when you are half way cooking the oxtail but you should add the green onions right before you eat by sprinkling on top of the broth and letting the hot steaming soup soak right through it. This is a great soup to eat with rice and dipping the oxtail meat in salt or soy sauce:)
@cassandrasan1447 жыл бұрын
I will also add a cinnamon stick and anise seed for sutler flavoring.

I'm confused at mid point, are we to run the 10min pressure broth dump 2 times then finally do the 8 cups to 40min.?

I loved this recipe but the broth didn’t come out white like the first picture you have in this video... have you had this problem?
@jamiepark8885 жыл бұрын
Will the broth get milky when you boil again the next day? The convenience of the IP appeals to me as I love this soup but the clear broth in your video just isn’t oxtail soup yet.

dvdgalutube low heat low boiling makes it clear. Medium heat moderately boiling makes it milky

Missfoodaddict Vlog ok gotcha. I'm new to this, but I thought it was very nutritious.
@ChristysChannel7 жыл бұрын
It's really easy to make but a looooooong process. I would let the soup cool down and place it inside the fridge overnight to let the fat solidify. This is a much healthier way to eat the soup without all the added fat! Good luck!
