Really happy to have seen the news of the Supreme Court ruling. Such great progress. Kim's explanation makes the current situation clear. Wise words from Pack where he says any close partnership requires effort as well as love. Ignore those that post negative and unkind remarks. I was so happy for all the gay couples in S. Korea when I heard this last week! 😭😭😭 Hopefully, in the near future, this will mean same-sex marriage will be legal! 🏳‍🌈 I'm a gyeopo noona that lives in Oregon (lol, the state above California) and Portland, the city I live in, is one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly in the US. We've had a mayor who is gay, and our current governor of the state is a lesbian who has a partner. We've even had a transgendered mayor of a small town in Oregon a few years ago.

I have been subscribing to your channel almost from the start and my main reason was discovering the lgbtq culture in a conservative country. I am a writer from the Middle East and I have stories about gay and lesbian people but I take all people simply as human beings. Congratulations, guys, one step closer to achieving equal status as a couple. I hope Korea will soon recognize that a relationship based on love and commitment deserves respect regardless of the genders of the people involved. Here in New Zealand, discrimination regarding sexual orientation and expression has been banned since 1993. In 2004, neutral civil unions were recognized. I am happy that Korea is moving towards equality. Laws should be to protect and not to coerce. This is a first step, but I have confidence in the future because logic will open these doors of refusal and incomprehension. I am happy for you, you are, in your own way, pathfinders of the light. I wish you could know about the acceptance of gay marriage. May you take this as a merit to your fight. Courage to you, the road is long but it's the right one

Imagine not providing Healthcare and Insurance to a Citizen of your country solely due to the system only recognising partners of opposite sex. On that basis to Sue them after making an administrative error? The case shouldn't have take 4 years but that's a great result and precedent for equality on the Korean peninsula.

When I heard this news, I immediately thought of you two, the Mango Couple. For the past few weeks, you have been going down this path about being recognized as a couple and having rights. And you filed for a marriage certificate, that you didn’t follow up on. And, of course, the will. It was like you knew this was about to happen. Your timing could not have been more perfect. I am over-the-moon about this latest information. As Taiwan recently granted same-sex marriage, I thought then surely, Korea must be right behind this, and I was right. Not quite the full marriage rights, but this is a huge step in that direction. I am so happy for you two to receive what you have apparently had already been manifesting into your life. I heard about the news story on NHK English (Japan) and thought about you right away. As with anything, there will always be those who agree and those who disagree. Try not to be bothered. This issue is not mine at all - I don't live in Korea. But I like to think most people can have empathy for the wide differences among people. At least be educated in your response.
