안녕하세요 한국 언니, it was so informative to learn about ancient cultures of Korea with you😊 Well like( 소반 ) "soban" in Indian food tradition the food was served on an individual table for one person (I watched them doing in mythological series) the families used to sit together but food was served on individual basis... the mini tables they used were just like soban (but with a square shape) in modern life it's not anymore practiced but this was once the part of our Indian history... May be I can call this culture similarities Thank you for making learning so fun :)

In India there used to be one person one table culture . A small mini uplifted table or similar to soban ( which is basically pat or chaurang) was used to eat and on that we used to keep thali. In my grandparents house they used to surve us that way. Also in my city there is a restaurant that offers such sitting arrangement. People of family used to sit side by side on a rectangular small carpet for like per person called (asan) . There are lot of languages in India. But i used names in Marathi language. But now we have it in home but it's not used much. As everyone eats separately mom and dad eat at dining table . Me and my brother eat in living room on couch .... We can do that because in our culture everything is served in one big plate and not small bowls so it is easier to eat om couch without table.

I really enjoyed this. I would love to hear more about what was on the menu. Culturally growing up in Pennsylvania in the states, we don't have much history, but Steak-umm, Mrs. T's pierogies, Yuengling beer. screamers from Tony's lunch, Primanti Brothers sandwiches... Most of the world would probably be appalled by what we eat in PA, but it is delicious. Not scrapple, we are famous for scrapple. It is horrible.

I remembered Unnie's lesson on 소확행 - 소소하지만 확실한 행복 and realized what 소 in 소반 could be. Even though there is 소 in 소반 I am not sure can 소소하다 and 작다 act interchangeably here. Also, is the main word for a dining table just 식탁 or 상 and 반 are used too 🙏🙏🙏💫💝
