We have something similar in the United States. It's usually called honeycomb candy, even though there's no honey in it. It comes covered in milk or dark chocolate. Very yummy. Now, I want to try dalgona!

Some honeycomb recipes have honey. You can use any types of sugar or liquid fructose. Dalgona actually taste similar to honeycomb.

That seems bizarre to a Canadian. If you coated the sponge toffee in chocolate it would be sold as a Chrunchie Chocolate bar. Would definitely like to try the croissant.

We English call it cinder toffee and I personally make it once a week I do one batch plain and the other I split in two and once cooled pour dark chocolate on one and milk chocolate on another. I have been given this as a treat to my kids for years, my husband on the other hand I started making just as small batch for him to take to work and his work colleagues now buy me the stuff so I can make them some to.

That looks like something we have here called Honeycomb Candy. Sugar, water and adding soda for the honeycomb effect. A little goes a long way! Lovely!
