If anyone is wondering if this works, it’s just supplementary material. It can help you to learn and remember vocabulary and familiarize yourself with how these words sound, but you need to study grammar, and it’s also best to learn words in context rather than individually. Verbs need to be conjugated too, here they are presented in their original form but they’re not really used like that at all. I just wanted to comment this because so many comments are saying they hope to become fluent with this, but you need to study a lot more than just watching a video of basic vocabulary. For a simple example let’s use the word 먹다 (to eat). If you want to use this word to form a simple sentence, it needs to be conjugated. Also, not to mention there are different levels of formality in Korean. You cannot speak to an older person or someone in a higher position than you informally, and you wouldn’t speak formally to a child either. That’s also very important to remember. Examples (polite informal speech): Original form: 먹다 I eat: 먹어요. I ate: 먹었어요. I will eat: 먹을 거예요. I want to eat: 먹고싶어요. I’m still a beginner but I wanted to clarify since I saw so many comments and I think this information could be useful for anyone interested in learning Korean.

Imagine.. your in the US… listening to this less than 2 weeks away from starting your Freshmen year in high school. You listen to this… for a whole week in a row.. so you make sure you brain has fully indulged in the Korean language. You wake up a week later from now, and you speak fluent Korean. You forget how to speak Korean and it messes everything up. By the time you start school you still speak Korean.. and not English. Now people think that you are Korean when you’re really Thai and Laos. People now see you as a international student… who could secretly be a K-POP idol because of the way you dress. Then as you get used to school your English comes back. You can still speak fluent Korean though. During your Chorus class, the teacher realizes you have a singing talent and tells you how you should audition to become a singer, or more specifically an idol! You audition to 20+ labels. You wait for 1-3 months… and don’t get a call or email from any. On your way to school about to give up because it’s been 3 months.. and not contact. Except for the 12 agencies that rejected you. While your sitting in school in your 4th period. You get a phone call.. in class you notice in the number, there’s a +82 in front. And then.. it says “Seoul, South Korea” as the location. You gasp loudly. Teacher: What is is…. Y/N? *this isn’t a fanfic lol* Y/N: excuse me, Ms. Teacher can I take this phone call it’s SUPER important. Teacher: Y/N, we’re in cla- Y/N: PLEASE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS CALL FOR OVER 3 MONTHS NOW!! Teacher: okay fine whatever. Phone call is from… an entertainment.. saying that you’ve been accepted to become a trainee, they ask for you to be there within 2 months. You hang up.. and have a huge smile on your face. Skip ahead You get home, and tell your grandmother what has happened. Y/N: okay grandma, so around October to December I submitted tons of auditions to K-Pop industries to become a singer in Korea. AND I GOT A CALL DURING SCHOOL AND I AM ABLE TO GO TO KOREA TO TRAIN!! Your grandma being super supportive. Y/N: AND I HAVE TO BE THERE WITHIN 2 MONTHS!! Yadayadaya, she buys you a ticket, obviously within the first month.. you pack, tell all your family. And you mother and father who live in a different state, pick you up to bring them to that state so you can have a final goodbye and congratulating party for this. You mother decides to take you to Korea because as her second oldest (and favorite child) she’s going to be extra sad. Your dad however is really busy with work. You first younger sister decides to become jealous, likes she’s always been.. and doesn’t talk to you for a bit. On the plane in the 2nd month, next to your mom, she thinks you sleeping. But your just resting your head again the wall. You are at a window seat on the right side of the plane. You were actually praying to your birth father who passed away a year ago from when you auditioned. (So the other dad wash stepdad). You tell him how he should be proud, because he’s always wanted this for you. When you reach to the agency building, you and your mom realize it’s time. You cry, she cries, the other trainees and idols see you two crying.. saying to themselves “I’ve been there before” and then. She drops you to your dorm, and leaves. You couldn’t believe it….. after 7 years of wanting to become a famous singer.. this is your chance! As you go into your dorm.. you meet other girls who are given the chance to be in this group. To be continued…

It's not from watching this but just would like to share... I've been studying Korean for about a year or two but off and on, plus I watch Korean entertainment like variety shows, Kpop idols, youtubers, etc So sometimes I have full dreams in Korean, where I understand and speak it fairly well. It's really amazing, but when I wake up I can barely understand or speak any Korean at all 😂

I love Korean, it is such a beautiful language. I think 어, 오, 에, 아, 으, along with other vowels in Korean, are supposed to be “full word attachments” like 맘 instead of ㅁㅏㅁ or 처럼 as such. Such as regular Korean-detached letters such as ㅓ, ㅗ, ㅖ, ㅏ, ㅡ, and ㅜ instead of 우. Like 맘, 심장, 달, and so on and so forth.
