Practice after watching: 1. 오늘 할 일이 뭐예요? (What's your to-do list?) - make the list with ~기 2. 요즘 뭐 하기 시작했어요? (What did you start doing nowadays?) 3. 주말에 뭐 하기로 했어요? (What did you plan to do on the weekend?)

Hello, teacher. The reason I asked about marginalized people (right at the end sorry) is because I was watching your lesson in public next to a Korean man who I think had Schizoaffective disorder. I am super chill talking with folks all over the spectrum in the US in English, but I found myself stumbling to find Korean duality words that didn't invoke social stigmas/judgements like cheap/expensive or good/bad. Also, when I worked in mental health in Cali we were told that Asian families might be skeptical of western mental health practices. So I raise the question: how can I use Korean in ways that promote mental wellbeing?

안녕하세요 쌤. 질문이 있어요. 1. What is the meaning of 넌지시? 2. 딴 것을 보는 걸 => what is the meaning "딴" in this sentence? 미리 너무 감사합니다😊

To answer Question 2, if I am not wrong 딴 is the shortened version of 다른 (다르다 modified to describe the noun) so it just means a different thing or another thing

넌지시 is "covertly", without being too obvious, overt, etc. Without explicitly saying something, you are covertly and somewhat secretly giving away! 선생님이 넌지시 힌트를 주셨어요. The teacher gave hints without being too obvious. And yes, 딴 is shortened form of 다른 and thus only used colloquially!
