South Korea and korean news outlets, are you not gonna do anything about a 21 y.o guy who received a 1000 funeral wreaths? Who was literally bullied out of the group? How many talented youth do you wanna lose because of this toxic culture? JUSTICE FOR SEUNGHAN To everyone saying that it isn't workplace bullying, SM released 2025 season greetings with 6 members today which would've been shot like a month ago. This means that they never planned to bring him back, "fans didn't want him" was an excuse. Also we saw SM employees on Blind being so openly against Seunghan's return and mocking his int'l fanbase. And we now know that funeral wreaths to a living person are illegal in Korea (thanks to armys) so SM could've easily removed them and sued those people but did they?

The fact is in entertainment industry in SK, bullying is part of its culture that everybody is getting used to it. What brings Hanni to the congress is not bullying culture, but the power. These girls are famous and thus have authority to be listened, even with trivial things. Seunghan is not famous yet, hence no matter what happens to him, it will get ignored. Sad to say that but people don’t really care about bullying in idol industry.

South Korea is known for their preferential treatment towards females. They don't believe in bullying among guys lmao. Every time a female idol talks about the slightest bit of bullying, everyone and even the parliament wants to be involved and help her out. This is a hearing about workplace issues. Seunghan is a very regular case of cyberbullying and public humiliation in SK which SM could have sued for as he is not a commoner, but instead left him vulnerable for their “gain” without knowing now people want to boycott them. Sadly some things are harder to fix and this hearing only focuses on issues that have barely been addressed before due to coercion and could help improve the experience for new idols so they don’t receive bad treatment both inside (company) and outside (fans, public)

Even though is not a “serious bullying” that everybody thinks it should to be a bullying case, it’s still bullying, and I know this because I was a victim of bullying and, first to ignore someone or to ask someone to ignore them, is actually bullying because you know that, this type of action is going to hurt the person, and you are still doing it because you are doing it with that intention, also to talk sh-t abt someone or a group of people on a app, that is like 100% posible that they can see their conversation and how much sh-t you talked is also bullying, because again…you are doing it with an intention to hurt that person, because that’s what you want to

@@alalehkamal6455 I respectfully disagree. The state audit is intended to address major national issues, scrutinize the implementation of government policies, and aid in legislation. This incident with Hanni is essentially an internal dispute with an entertainment agency. What does the state have to do with any of this? For government-funded projects, they should have a say on the management of workers. However, in this case, the state has no stake in privately-owned companies such as Ador and Hybe (unless there are criminal violations). They just used the artists for their own agenda.

@@nad0862 may I ask is there more substantial evidence of it *reoccurring* other than being ignored? It is totally alright to feel upset! But is it targetted? The members happened to be in the same room when the staff said to probably their team to ignore them, to get back to what they were doing in the make-up room. The members happened to be passing by when they weren't greeted properly. How to exactly prevent or resolve that issue? Asking the staff to meet with the members' parents? Anyone who feels uncomfortable or threatened, should speak up and their feelings and experience are valid. She spoke about it in a livestream with the context of demanding the parent company to reinstall mhj. Not to allow the members to leave, not to sue, not to demand a compensation for what happened (again, what will be satisfying?). The demand is to reinstall someone they said who can protect them. Their words. Once again, what is the evidence of bullying reoccurring and being targetted to a point the environment becomes very unwelcoming of them? The members are open with who they support. It says about what or who they consider matter and worth speaking up about (well, who could that be in the past several months? Clue: not the juniors that mhj accused publicly for being similar and leave them to fend for themselves). We can come to the office and work after conflict but don't expect everyone to suddenly brush everything aside unless all sides acknowledge each other's part in the drift. Have we also considered that the staff, who are considered as workers by law, expressed their frustration and annoyance, them being under pressure bcs the situation that mhj caused? There are also staff who expressed their complaints working under mhj. Yet the hearing is only for? By the committee with what kind of track record when it comes to taking issues seriously? Invited by someone who is a fan of who?

Actually there are reason why alot of knetz still supporting new jeans meanwhile the others thought new jeans are just like fifty fifty aka go against the company. But since the debut of newjeans there already some problems, aka the CEO keep promising them to debut but keep postponed it to debuting other idols that the CEO made himself and the one that actually fighting for their debut and actually take care of them is MHJ, and that's why the NJ members can't really be sided with their company bcs the company never really cared abt them and only MHJ that kinda give the attention and help that they needed. Don't get me wrong, MHJ herself is a bad person, but NJ is also being used by her in a way. And NJ's reason of wanting her to comeback to the company is pretty understandable in a way? Bcs however noone actually wanted them on that company, and the one person that actually take care of them is gone. And even when they speak up abt them getting silent treatment on youtube, the company just need to deny it and the media just go against NJ again even tho hybe is known like to stir media up, so a fight against some teenager girls is nothing to them obvi. We actually do need the old big hit to comeback bcs hybe is just a company that's full of dramas

She's very pretty and lovable (until this) but apart from this she's nothing special (so does other NJ members) They get to the top of the charts, became top gg, get a lot of brand deals and became rich in a very undeserving way. I dont believe the new CEO told her to let it go because she doesn't believe her, but because an argument with baseless claims can not truly be rectified, it would all be a matter of hearsay. But even if the situation is true and the supposed manager of Illit told the girls to ignore her, would it not be valid considering Min Hee Jin at the time was publicly attacking Illit and Source Music. Im not trying to dismiss Hanni's claims but to bring an issue so trivial to such a high place (without evidence ). She’s standing up for herself and her group? Why can’t Seunghan do that? Why can’t Hanni? What you don’t realize is this is a sure fire way to change the way people respect idols rights, inadvertently helping Seunghan. Why you lot have to baby male idols so much, I don’t fucking know. This is a young girl standing up for herself, and all you can do is call her dramatic? Then what is Seunghan? Let me use your ideology: he knew what he was getting into when he became an idol, why did he get into a relationship? He knew as an idol people would be commenting on him as a public figure, so why should I feel bad for him? He brought it upon himself right? That’s how you people sound every time you put down Hanni for standing up herself and her group. I don’t see Seunghan up there? Why is everyone crying for him? Why is everyone demonizing Hanni? This incident happened in June, when MHJ was still the CEO and ms Kim here was an ED (or sth like that). Hanni, taking into consideration her personality & close bond with the former CEO, probably told MHJ about this incident already but we didnt hear a thing from her nor how she resolved this incident. If MHJ (CEO) couldnt do anything bc of the lack of evidence, how does she expect an executive director or position to resolve it? If MHJ did really love NJ, she would have raised hell just to get justice for the girls, but now, a few months past she suddenly & conveniently remember about this incident and persuade NJ to talk about it. This case has been closed bc of lack of evidence in the past but they just had to bring it up again for shock value and bc they had no further argument. This assembly is proof, since out all the supposed "mistreatment" they faced, this incident which involves another idol group (and caused an uproar amongst netizens & fans) got attention. Not to mention Hanni (not in this 7 min vid) made a lot of statements based on her feelings alone, like "i feel like the company hates us bc we're different from the start/debut", not concrete facts. But what's the verdict or whatever response the assembly is gonna give here? Are they gonna pass a law banning "ignoring your colleague no matter how bad they are"? Im curious.

@@이진-f2f ok, i get that, it answered like maybe 1.5-2 of my points. But my points still stand that mhj didnt say a word of it bc of the lack of evidence until she had no other arguments & had to use an influential girl group member (bc fans will blindly believe the idol) when things has already been solved/closed in the past. "I believe she didnt use all the means necessary to help me" (or sth similar) is wild bc it's speculation & personal belief, it's biased based on her own feelings, again, lack of evidence but she was very confident in that statement, further incriminating ceo kim. Whereas ceo kim claimed that she believed she had used all the means in her power, her statement is also personal belief but it's not definite nor as arrogant as hanni's. It's basically he says she says where both sides have different stories and no definite proof on hanni's side. And if u could pls state the content of the law, it'd be helpful to me to further understand what's it like in korea. Also, i heard some people scoffed at ceo kim for saying that idols arent protected under the same law protecting labor rights as ordinary workers (or that idols arent included in that law, like u said). So there's that. 🤷‍♀️ Also, completely irrelevant question but is part of the reason why idols arent included in the law bc some of them are minors & arent of legal age yet? Idk, just a thought.

Not protecting them when something happens to the team or the company or whatever. Nobody needs to be in a work environment like that, everyone needs to be safe and not feel belittled by others. Workplace bullying is when someone "constantly picks on someone", "deliberately overloads them work", "make sure that they're always the last person to leave the office", "make them run errands for you", "snitch about them to your higher ups even when haven't done anything wrong"....and in extreme cases "using physical violence against them"......her definition of "workplace bullying" literally discredits the actual victims undergoing bullying/harrassment at work.. The definition of bullying is the repetitive use of strength or power to frighten or hurt weaker people. Where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Hanni - a rich senior idol who lives in a luxury apartment, is taken around by drivers and attended to by staff - complained that after getting her hair and makeup done, Illit's manager - a junior employee earning substantially less, not provided with luxury accommodation or transportation - told a member of Illit "ignore her" (allegedly). And Hanni and parents demanded the company to summon the junior employee and interrogate them. The imbalance of power in this relationship and who the real bully is, is clear. Her smirks and glares at Ador's CEO were disrespectful, a real "mini Min Hee Jin" - like mother like daughter. Even if the manager did say "ignore her", with all the accusations and smearing that MHJ has done against so many groups including Illit, it would seem an attempt to protect the junior idol. I imagine everyone at the company is walking on eggshells around MHJ and NJ (if they ever show up), and the environment must be toxic. The National Assembly was a farce. A politician had NJ bunny stickers on his computer, others took photos of Hanni arriving, and the CEO of Hanwha Ocean - called for a hearing of workers' deaths - was smiling and taking selfies with Hanni. Utterly disgraceful.

Honestly, whats so sad about the majority of these comments is most of these people are comparing bullying on the degree or severity which is not helpful at all as all forms of bullying are harmful. Instead of uniting together on a humanity level to combat bullying, you turn on Hanni to have someone to blame and use as a scapegoat. Blinded by trying to determine whose case is more severe, the ignorant people in these comments miss the point that Hanni decided to take a step forward in diminishing workplace bullying and toxicity. Regardless, knowing she was going to be faced with large public opinion, Hanni used her power to speak up on bullying within the idol industry and that's a very brave thing to do. I find it ironic that under a video where the premise is anti-bullying, the people in these comments pursue to bully Hanni for speaking up. Whether you like it or not, Hanni did what she thought was right and hopefully this can be the beginning for more artists to speak out on workplace bullying.

But there is not even one instance that Hanni or anyone from Newjeans have pointed out that equals to bullying or workplace harassment. Someone saying ignore her is not harassment. Infact you will also ignore someone who is bringing hate to you. I don't know how old you are but ignoring someone at workplace is quite common and infact your manager will tell you to ignore people who are negative towards you. What she's experiencing is called a culture shock. I wouldn't go that far in calling it bullying... these young girls are being so sheltered... they need to reconsider going back to school so they could learn about the real world because this is real concerning how much they are focusing so much on someone not greeting them back or being purposely ignored. Grow some thick skin and let it roll off you. When she said bullying I was thinking T-ARA kind of bullying.

The deletion of cctv should be properly investigated. In the first place, it was the time when Hani checked, but in June, when his parents protested. The 13th is within the 16th, which is half of the 30 days of the cctv expiration period. But the problem is that the 50-minute video containing only an 8-second greeting video of greeting Hani was deleted. My parents protested on June 20th, and this is also before the expiration date of cctv. My parents kept protesting until September. When I showed the video on August 13th, I showed a completely different video of Hani + Daniel + manager together, not when I was alone. And in the state audit, he lied that there was an 8-second half, but the second half was gone because cctv expired. And he said he couldn't appeal strongly because he was the manager of another company. Kim Joo-young himself is still the chief human resources officer of Hive. Is the chief human resources officer in a position where he can't say anything about such a dispute? It's something the world will laugh at.

@Hii_Miraa12 Well, I think its funny they sent Hanni, a foreigner, to speak. I don't think you understand what culture shock means. It sounds tactful they sent her since a non-Korean addressing workplace issues could be viewed differently. Probably with more leniency or understanding if she unintentionally offends someone. It's easier to call it misunderstandings or cultural differences if her testifying backfires. So no. I don't really think Hanni actually knows what the problem is because she wasn't raised in the Korean culture. She's just being told what to do.

@tanzilsalekin7633 Gaslighting involves manipulating someone into doubting their own reality or experiences. I was merely providing my opinion. If anyone is gaslighting, it's whoever made her show up to testify. Just to be clear, I wasn’t trying to dismiss Hanni’s experience. Workplace issues in the entertainment industry are serious, and speaking up matters. But this is the real world. My point was that without any actual evidence, her showing up without solid proof weakens the argument and makes it harder to take action. Did she bring this alledged evidence to the Korea National Assembly? If she did, great! My opinion can be disregarded then! That will help her claims and assist to move for a policy change. But if she hadn't brought anything supporting her claims and yet she was still wielding that statement about having this alledged evidence in front of the National Assembly?? This isnt childs play. Who tf does she think she is? To me, that just sounds like a threat was made. That's why I called her brave. Her testifying in front of the Korea National Assembly, which is Congress in the U.S. for me, they were all being nice and I wondered if it was because she's a foreigner.

yall in the comments don’t understand what workplace bullying is..workplace bullying is common and it happens everyday in the work place. the first things that common in bullying is isolation, she said that the staff said to “ignore her” and “don’t pay attention to her”. and even if this seems like a “minor” case to some of you, you aren’t in her position to know what she’s experiencing firsthand. i’m glad she spoke up because most idols just ignore the bullying and choose not to speak up about how it affects them and how it needs to be stopped, that’s the reason most idols are always depressed and even worse they end up committing. hanni speaking up can encourage other idols to do so as well, putting workplace bullying out in the spotlight and revealing what happens under closed doors. jeez you people lack all sorts of empathy

Hanni is Australian and in Australia, not treating people with respect at this level can be considered as workplace bullying. Being continuously ignored in the workplace can put so much stress on the person and eventually their mental health, which is taken extremely seriously in Australia. Unfortunately, coming from Asian countries, I can say that we tend not to take such matters seriously enough. She's speaking her truth from her perspective and it's up to the assembly to review to determine the severity of the issue. There's nothing wrong with that. Does she have to suffer an intense level of bullying (physical abuse, yelling, etc) to be considered as being bullied? I don't think so.

Why Hani participated in the national audit) in relation to South Korea's labor laws. That national audit was about workers who are not protected by labor laws. Currently, K-pop artists in South Korea are not protected by labor laws because they are contracted as a service to their management companies, even though they are workers (labor laws only recognize workers if they have a labor contract). Hanni's participation in the national audit could lead to better treatment of K-pop artists, trainees, and other freelancers. This is an important issue for South Korea's labor system.

Is she speaking up for the sake of Kpop idols, or for herself and MHJ? If she really cares about other idols that much then she should have stopped her ex-CEO from bullying other groups.

I think it will lead to that but I don’t think that was the reason she did this. If there was actual harassment it would make sense but I feel this is just a publicity stunt to help MHJ. There was nothing much the new ceo could have done 😅. On top of that it’s kind of a slap in the face to other idols who actually are hurting due to MHJ mentioning them which she didn’t even have to mention MHJ did that purposely knowing they would get attacked. She is not stupid. The fact that Hanni knows this is kinda sad when she mentions so other idols don’t have to go through this…when the other idols are getting much worse than just being ignored 🤦🏽‍♀️. Idk I think it’s a step for other idols but her reasoning is not actually for other idols in my opinion it’s for herself and MHJ and to try to get MHJ back by trying to get rid of the new ceo and doing anything possible to do so…

We were told by MHJ that ''brainless''...girls idols... Hanni seems, to learn the art of manipulation from her mentor MHJ. And ''I'm aware that laws cannot resolve every problem that exist''...wow I'm impressed, she looks like she made rehearsals before and had a strategy too. First of all, Hanni brought Bang Pd in discussion about how another gg and their manager ''bullied'' her by ignoring her. So, it happened before at a higher level but now, she couldn't stand still anymore. Secondly she mentioned the discussion between the HYBE PR staff and the former reporter that inflated the NJ sales in Japan with approximately... 960.000 copies. And people discussion on that matter is bad-mouthing NJ? Thirdly the actual CEO of ADOR doesn't care and support NJ idols, because when she was a PR director under MHJ management!!?, the PR director didn't solved the case in Hanni's favor? The ''bullying'' incident was in June or earlier, how come is involved Hanni's distress of MHJ being removed without notice in 28 of August in all the story, that the actual CEO don't care about NJ idols? I think that the public was mislead by MHJ. Hanni doesn't seem to be brainless at all. If she connected in her speech all the incidents that happened in the last 6 months, with Bang Pd courage of not saying ''hi'' to her two years ago. That young woman/idol knows where to bring the discussions. I also think that the marketing company/consultant behind MHJ is involved and is orchestrating all of this tragicomedy. Maybe HYBE should search for one too.

For international fans. The topic of this audit was not "Ignore cases." It was "workers outside the labor law." Currently, there are 8.5 million people in Korea who are not protected by the labor law, such as contract workers and freelancers. The issue has been discussed all along, but it has received little attention from society. However, Hanni's appearance in the National Assembly has earned her the attention of society. It is for this reason that lawmakers thank Hani for coming out. Hanni understood this well and attended the National Assembly inspection. She said, "I don't want my seniors and juniors to go through this." because she didn't come out to solve her own problems. Regardless of the high or low income, it's the same that idols are not protected by labor laws. And the national audit revealed a cover-up case in which a Hive employee died from overwork while working in the office around September 2022. Therefore, it can be seen as lawmakers protecting workers and auditing several industries, including Hive, through these matters.

@@sakurakou2009 This was translated into a translator. The official name of a specially hired worker is "special type worker," which refers to a person who provides labor services through a consignment contract for work, etc., not an employment contract, and receives payment in the form of commissions, etc. ▲ insurance planner ▲ chauffeur ▲ workbook teacher, etc. They work in the same situation as workers, but most of them cannot be guaranteed the rights of workers under the labor law. This is because it is not 'employed' by a labor contract, but is a 'self-employed' in form. Specialized workers contract with companies and are managed and monitored by companies, but are discriminated against because they are not contracted under a 'labor contract'. Special employment workers are not covered by industrial accident insurance depending on their occupation type. As of July 2021, only 3 out of 10 special employment workers are eligible to join. Since the labor contract is not written, the basic rights specified in the labor contract, ▲ vacation ▲ annual ▲ working hours, etc., cannot be guaranteed. Profits are unstable because they do not receive a certain wage every month from their employers. The Labor Union and Labor Relations Act, which can create and negotiate labor unions, also does not apply.

South Korea is known for their preferential treatment towards females. They don't believe in bullying among guys lmao. Every time a female idol talks about the slightest bit of bullying, everyone and even the parliament wants to be involved and help her out. But male idols don't receive the justice nor empathy they deserved lmao. So keep quiet. To date, South Korea has never been as enthusiastic to help out a guy in need of dire help from death threats and bullying.
