Watching this again and idk how I missed this, but no, David, Brazilian people don't dress like that. I mean the bottom part, the top one is totally fine. It's just stage clothes like the ones Little Mix, Fifth Harmony, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Hyunah, Sistar, AOA, EXID, wear all the time when they are having a concert. Sure we tend to wear lighter and sometimes shorter clothes on a daily basis because it's so hot in Brazil almost the entire year but we don't wear underwear or shorts this short on the streets. Unless you are talking about the poorer regions in the Southeast and the slums (in Rio) in which the Funk tradition reigns. Anitta herself (and the guy from the other video) comes from that part of Rio and therefore it reflects on a few of her stage clothes but it's not something shocking to us because it's part of our culture and we understand that. But please believe me we really don't go out wearing these types of clothes on the streets. In fact, and please take it as an observation instead of criticism (pls), I - and loads of other brazilians (from the videos I see on Internet) - were so shocked at the size of the shorts Korean girls wear on the streets when we visited Seoul. It was so conflicting bc they were so small but the upper clothes had no hint of cleavage whatsoever. It was weird to me at first but so interesting anyways. Different cultures bring all these different standards and that's what makes world so great.

Anitta is great and really famous in Brazil, but she is not the only artist here. 2 - Please, don't use that many stereotypes when you're talking about a place you don't know. I have to admit it is a bit weird to hear a guy saying 'it's a bit too much', but this is not the first time I've watched a video and Korean guys are complaining about too much sexiness. I think Korean female singers get just as sexy but they don't show breast and since their bodies are not as voluptuous it doesn't seem like too much to them. Or it could be because they are used to that type of sexiness and it seems tame to them. I disagree to a certain extent. Korean female singers, I think, over sexualize many of their dance moves so they are on par with Westerners.

Maybe because I'm Brazilian myself and I'm so used to the standards here, I find Bang to be more on the cute side than most stuff we see on TV on a daily basis. "Twerking" has always been a popular dance move here since idk when (also body waves) and it's not perceived to be as sexualized as americans see it or you guys see it. It's a normal dance here, especially in Rio where Funk was born. Also Brazil is a very hot country, people, men and women, wear "less" clothes pratically all year. But indeed brazilians love asses (and curvy bodies) and this singer emphasizes it too much I think (in most of her videos). I really am trying to explain better how this type of video isn't as bizarre and crazy to us as it was to David (poor thing! 😂) but I don't think I'm succeeding haha 😅

The funny part is because in the other video we suggested Anitta, but when we said " this represent Brazil" I was like ...uuuuhhh nope. The main difference between this song and the other one is the lyrics. You would definitely be way more shocked if you could see the lyrics of the other song (I don't really know it, but or it just repeats the same words or it's some kind of pornography in audio, it's the "bad songs" here, it's called funk, but we usually play it on parties bcs it's good to dance). This one is lighter, so it represents the "pop/funk" culture (which is very present in Brazil) better than the other one.
