most of the presets (trying to imitate real instrument) are grap, the strenght of this old synth lies somewhere else.

Which one do you like best: SY77 or DS8?

Hi Philip! I never thought about it! well for what I can say the SY77 is a better quality hardware and keybed (especially the aftertouch ) and for sure gives you much more sounds possibilities, but the DS8 has those two real time controllers that are fun to use and you can modify the sounds in real time, and it is easier to modify sounds in general, less complicated editing.... SY77 has a sequencer DS8 has not. So it depend of what you're looking for. Both are fun machine!

Hi Herman! thank you for your beautiful comment, unfortunately I don't have that keyboard with me at the moment, for sure I'm using 2 oscillator/operator, the second one is one octave and 7 semitone upper the the first one. I think I used very simple sounds for each operator, for sure I set the aftertouch to control the filter cutoff . Then I used the internal delay effect. I'm really sorry I cannot help you as I wish!

Ciao! non sono un espertissimo di annate, ma sembrerebbe che il DS8 è stato prodotto nel 87, mentre il poly 800 nel 83, hanno 2 tipi di sintesi completamente differenti in ogni caso, buona giornata!!
